My experience with the delivery service was really bad, and the subsequent customer service was abysmal.
Ringgenberg offers a delivery service for CHF 1.50, which we were very happy to use. I ordered bread for five consecutive days. The first day it showed up - perfect! The second day, no bread, so I had to take the bus to the village, explain that we didn't get bread in my best German (nine of the staff seem to speak English). They provided me with the order and a reluctant apology - but no reimbursement of delivery costs. Third day - hurray, bread! Fourth day - no bread. I had to stop skiing earlier to go too the bakery and get bread. This time no apology and no bread - according to the staff, the delivery guy put the bread in a letterbox close to the trash container. Difficult for me to check as I'm in the village, not at the apartment. But I'd lost my faith in the delivery service and asked them to provide the bread for the fifth day directly, so that at least we would have bread for lunch. When at the apartment, there's no letterbox near the trash container. And not with our neighbours on either side or across the street. So all in all, I paid for five deliveries, got two, had to pick up two myself and got...
Read moreshould've paid attention to the reviews - decided to try this bakery anyway during our grindelwald visit, big mistake, worst experience in my europe trip.
walked in and were completely ignored. asked an older woman staff and she told us to sit down first. asked again if i could still get stuff from the bakery counter and she just insisted we get a table first. the menu didn't even have the bakery items listed.
went to look at the pastries myself and took a photo of the one i wanted since i thought i'd probably need to memorize the names when ordering. noticed one staff being friendly with a local customer - then a blonde woman staff came up, i showed the pastry name on the photo and she immediately seemed offended and mad, telling me i should just ask her, like she was there the whole time serving customers.
while ordering coffee, she barely looked at me and kept chatting with the older staff instead. when i asked for a receipt she sighed and lost all patience, rolling her eyes and muttering, to my face?!
ended up taking the food out. the pastries were meh and the coffee was bland for the price.
grindelwald has too many nice places to waste time and money here. wish i'd...
Read moreFairly disappointed in Riggenberg, but particularly so with their deceptive pricing and subsequent disregard for our confusion over their pricing. Upon receiving a check, I saw that the 5x ketchup packets & the 1 mayonnaise packet we received cost 0.80 CHF each. This of course totaled up to 4.80 CHF for 6 packets of condiments. In my confusion, I stated to a member of the staff âI didnât realize the ketchup cost 0.80 CHF eachâ to which he casually replied, âthey cost me money tooâ⌠My wife and I felt disrespected and taken advantage of after what had been at least an average meal. Unexpectedly spending more than $5 for ketchup, particularly after not being warned (with no obvious indication on the menu) is very frustrating. Will not be returning and want others to be aware Edit: My wife stated that the chicken nuggets and fries she got cost ~$20 and were lower quality than McDonaldâs. (Hence our need for all...
