Le Lyrique Café restaurant — Restaurant in Lausanne

We were waiting for the bus with my girlfriend and was a bit hungry and thirsty. I was like "Heyy there is some restaurant over there. Lets go!". So we went. From the outside it doesn't look so good and we didn't spend time inside. First impression was super pleasant and the waiter was really nice. We ordered 2 beers and looked for the menu. Our eyes immediatelly fell on the tartar so we ordered tuna and beef and we shared. It was soooo delicious. I can tell you i wasnt so happy with a meal in a really long time. We asked for some good wine and maaan did they deliver!!! Probably best wine we ever drunk. Was called Mercouri if i remember correctly ( wine lovers - trust me on this one ). All the stuff was super nice, the boss looked really interested how are the guests feeling and he was putting some work with the waiters so we had a really nice feeling from that. Acabé en este restaurante de casualidad y la experiencia ha sido increíble. Muy amablemente aceptaron servirme el plato del día (una buena porción canelones a la griega, deliciosos) aún si la cocina ya había cerrado, acompañado de un vino griego muy rico. El postre, tan sorprendentemente como exquisito: yogur griego, miel, pistachos y olivas confitadas (!) Todo un descubrimiento gustativo. Ahora este restaurante se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos en Lausanne, vuelvo siempre que puedo y cada vez disfruto comiendo en este restaurante de comida casera, exquisita y sin pretensiones. Se trata de un restaurante auténtico y tradicional, pero al mismo tiempo su cocina es innovadora. Hay un menú del día que cambia regularmente y la carta también se adapta a la gastronomía local. Entre los platos griegos de la carta, el plato de entrantes variados es un verdadero must. He viajado varias veces a Grecia y en pocas ocasiones he comido una taramosalata, unas albóndigas, unos beignets de tomate o unos tiropites tan ricos. La musaka tambien está muy buena. Entre las especialidades locales de la carta, el tartar de atún y el de ternera son muy recomendables. El menú del día también es una buena opción. Además, el ambiente del restaurante es cálido y familiar. Le lyrique es un acogedor café restaurante histórico, à l’ancienne, con mesas de madera y una luz cálida que invitan a sentarse y a “restaurarse” a través de un buen plato de comida. Uno siente casi como si el tiempo se hubiese detenido entre sus paredes. Además, el personal no podría ser más amable, acogedor y simpático. Este restaurante forma parte del paisaje de Lausanne y espero que podamos seguir disfrutando de él...

This part of town is real deal. Not a touristic part of town but more for locals. These kind of areas usually produce the best quality and economical too because they are not charging extra for being in tourist Centers. Great outdoor seating excellent staff which speaks English too and food was outstanding. For lunch and dinner both I recommend this place which 5 minutes from Center of Geneva.
