Cozy atmosphere, fabulous cocktails, great wine list, delicious cheeseburger, nice selection of small plates, and yummy desserts. We've been here many times for brunch, lunch, apero, and dinner. Tonight everything was great except for the service. For dessert, we ordered an espresso and chocolate cake. The espresso came out first so we assumed the desert was coming within a few minutes and we waited. After 10 minutes of waiting for the dessert, we politely asked the server about the dessert because the espresso was getting cold. She rudely responded that it was our fault since we didn't specify we wanted the two together, and walked away leaving the cold espresso and still no dessert. We were shocked. Other restaurants normally bring the espresso at the same time as the dessert when they are ordered together, so we had no idea it was necessary to request this. Five minutes later (15 minutes after the espresso had been left on our table) they finally brought the dessert, which we enjoyed without the cold espresso. The server additionally took a 2nd opportunity to remind us, as we were paying, that the cold espresso again was OUR FAULT. We've always experienced wonderful service in Lausanne, so we were surprised by this unwillingness to serve us a hot espresso. If the restaurant is financially strained and really can't afford to replace a cold espresso, we would have been happy to pay twice to have a hot one. Needless to say, the server and her rude disposition left us disappointed, and lowered our pristine opinion of Cafe St. Pierre (or maybe our expectations were just too high for this...
Read moreWe went for brunch here, it is very over priced for what it was. 73 francs for 2 people! There are good enough options for brunch but nothing quite nailing the “brunch” idea. For example you shouldn’t have a cheese burger on a brunch menu but should have a full English which actually has all the things a full English would have. Also savoury pancakes is not a brunch thing, it should be sweet with bacon and syrup. The coffee is also very average and then we are expected to pay almost 6 francs for it. Also they only have soya milk, come on, no one actually likes this, get some oat milk. 2nd star is for the style of the place. It has a...
Read moreVery busy, vibrant restaurant bar filled with good looking people and friendly, attentive staff. To top it off, the location is absolutely perfect. With all these things going for it, it makes what follows such a shame: the food, just like the cocktails, are nothing special and border on the bland.
The food selection is clever and appealing. But the food itself doesn't really make your eyes go wide or bring a smile to your face. And when you wash it down with a cocktail, you find something you would expect out of a much cheaper looking place: a bland, watered down drink where you taste the chaser more than the...
