Experience for last week. One star gives to the service, to the special service of a waitress with dark middle long big curly hair lady, who is also with a tatoo ''Maxi...''on her fore arm. It's been years that we didn't have such an unpleasant meal. I could list what happened:
When we were lead to a small tiny table, there was only normal menu offered, but the carte des vins. This is nothing to complain about but later we need this initial setting.
Then after few minutes, this lady came and asked if we have already chosen our food, the answer was '' not yet'', she left in a very rude way, no friendly face or voice or gesture or language or whatever necessary and basic in a normal hospitality sector all over the world.
We chose the food and found the table was moving, we asked her and she slightly kicked the table into another direction then left us again and the table became re unstable in one minute, but nobody took care of us for this anymore.
Then came the carte des vins. There was a bottle of vin on each table, we tried to figure out which wine it is and price on the menu, but nothing marked, when she came again, we tried to ask her, but seems that she couldn't even finish a normal sentence with us, with improper French and bad attitude, no one on the table got what she said and she didn't even wait for a reply, she left us in the same rude way again... we looked at each other, asking each other, what did she just say? No body understood... Then we expected this queen came to us again, she appeared, yes! We asked her if she could repeat what she just said please, this lady explained us in a inpatient way. It is the wine of the month or week, so impossible for us to find through the name of the bottle, as nobody gave us a clue when serving the menu. So this wine only sell as vin ouvert, but we were interest in taking a bottle to try, there was no price, we asked this question, I think that she really had no patience nor correct attitude at all, she repeated loudly and angrily, '' Madame! Le prix est là! '' Come on! Everyone heard that we asked the price for a bottle which is not presented on the menu, she didn't understand the question and angrily replied us in a strong tone! What a hell she was doing there!? We came for a leisure dinner not for being mal treated! Okay, then she understood what we asked and told us the price, which was correct on the bill, so this is a good point here. But our unpleasant dinner didn't finish yet.
Then our food order, drink order were all taken. All normal normal, untill salad were brought, this killed our last mercy to decide publish our experience... so, no even tiny exaggerate here, we just had like 3 bites of the salad, she brought our main course to the tiny moving table, I looked at her and asked '' Already? Seriously? '' She said '' You ordered the wine too late '' Then left our plates on the table and vanished...
Really! Seriously! I couldn't remember another bad service experience in recent years, we were late given the wine menu or even a normal order to give the wine menu, then after 3 bites of starter, then main course here squeezing on the table, meat got cold and had to hurry to finish starter, all because of our ''fault''?
Excuse me!?
After this, we automatically shielded her existence for being able to finish our dinner in a better mood, but I saw after more clients came, our nearby tables, there was one table with two girls were totally ignored for like 20 mins, in the end, the girl couldn't wait and had to go for her and our table was cleaned by another waitress who was more friendly.
I don't want to be mean but if someone really does his/her job too much out of the range, I think for this person's good, for the business' good and for other customers' good, this bad experience need to be known, to be considerate and to be improved by all the relative parties.
The food is good as usual, but this bad service experience really reduced the appetizer and built up bad psycho link to...
Read moreThis is a very nice restaurant; the internal decor is traditional with wooden beams and cosy sitting corners. The only issue with this could be for the person trapped on the inside against the walls. The tables are well presented on entry and the glasses and cutlery are always perfectly clean.
A salad and warm bread starter is provided upon seating. Just a note, if you are likely to order the burger the bread is identical, so it does tend to feel like a loaf overload if you eat both.
The meat quality is ok and as are the prices. I have eaten better steaks and on occasion the chips have been cold or tasted like they were reheated. It’s a pity because it takes away from the main course. Plenty of sauces available to suit all tastes. It very important to stress the cooking type as “well done” (“bien cuit” French translation) is more like an English medium. It will have pink and a bit of run off. I normally say “bien bien cuit” and they get the idea.
The decorations are changed to suit the holidays which adds to the atmosphere. It’s a long thin restaurant, but don’t be put off by that after entering as there is plenty of seating space to the rear of the restaurant.
The entry is wheelchair friendly, the seating the toilets however are not. (This is unless a separate toilet has been added to the rear of the restaurant but if it has, I haven’t noticed it). The gents and ladies are downstairs, with the stairs location opposite the cooking area in the centre of the restaurant.
A limited number of the staff speak English and I haven’t seen a menu in English yet. I’ve deducted a star because there have been a few occasions when I’ve asked for something additional e.g. another drink which was acknowledged but never delivered. This has happened when the restaurant was empty as...
Sinceramente me hubiera gustado encontrar a algún Argentino/a trabajando allí ("restaurante argentino").
