I’m extremely disappointed with the quality and condition of the food I received. To begin with, I ordered two iced lattes, which were shown in the menu photo as individual coffee cups. Instead, I received a single warm bottle, only misleading, but completely inappropriate for an iced beverage. There was no ice, and the drink was room temperature at best.
The cappuccino was even worse. It arrived in a damaged cup, with the edges broken and most of it spilled onto my burrito. The foam had completely disappeared, making it more of a cold coffee with milk than a proper cappuccino.
As for the burrito, it was honestly inedible. The taste was repulsive, and having it soaked in spilled cappuccino only made it worse. I would be surprised if a guest re -ordered this, also my roommates agreed with me. The side salad was equally disappointing: low-quality ingredients, barely dressed, and lacking any seasoning.
Considering I paid 77 CHF (excluding delivery and service fees due to my Uber Eats membership), I wasn’t expecting just good quality, I expected exceptional quality. Unfortunately, what I received was far from acceptable. It was really BAD. The food was poorly packaged, of low quality, and the delivery arrived after more than an hour, which is simply too long. I am giving one star only for the pancakes which were nice. Also, I am not the person who complaints all the time when items are missing or the food arrives cold, I usually move on and forget it. But this time it was really bad, I felt I needed to write a review.
Furthermore, I really do NOT want to hear that the delivery is not your responsibility, because it’s NOT TRUE. You are equally responsible for packaging it right and avoid negative spillover effects. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and not at all reflective of the price point or expectations set by the listing. It felt like a...
Read moreWay over priced cheap food. I had a chicken club sandwich made of a cheap toast bread (hard to eat too!) filled with some discount-quality chicken breast, with a bit of chips taken from a budget bag and a little green salad on the side, for over 20 CHF. The espresso was quite bad too, a soup of acidic tasting coffee I had to leave behind... Staff was not so nice either when interacting, and they also forgot about our order... Sorry, the place is nice but you should upgrade your game food- and service-wise if you want to make people pay over 20 chf for a sandwich or an omelette.
Edit: I see the owner’s reply, which unfortunately matches the experience: dismissive and unprofessional. For clarity, I was indeed reviewing this establishment, and the prices I mentioned are clearly visible on your own menu photos from 2 years ago (club sandwich 21.5 CHF, eggs dishes over 20 CHF). So no, I didn't pay over 20 CHF because I had drinks or desserts. But that's not the main problem I had, which was with the quality of the dishes. Based on this reply and the many others I see on negative reviews, it seems criticism here is met with sarcasm rather than reflection, which only reinforces my initial impression. I hope you are...
Read moreOn a recent trip to Switzerland, I visited The Hideaway, a little café in the center of Lausanne. Unpretentious and cozy, it’s the kind of place that can serve well as a quiet getaway when you want a good cup of coffee and a nook where you can read or work, and a cozy spot where you can eat with a friend or group of friends and discuss matters large or small. I ate the "Bol Maison" which was very flavorful, with barley, peppers, and egg. If I could improve anything, it would be to have the vegetables and egg cut in larger chunks to add even more to the visual appeal. My friend had a salad with large chunks of fresh avocado, lettuce, and crispy apple, which looked delicious. The service was both warm and efficient. Coffee and tea are both excellent quality and served in wonderfully large mugs, which gave us a chance to linger and talk happily long after the...
