We went to Klinger’s yesterday and we were lucky to get their last table outside. It was still warm but the brisk evening air slowly took hold of the atmosphere. This was not a problem as our chairs were covered with plush sheep skin and later on people wrapped themselves in additional blankets which made the overall evening very cosy! It was such a great people watching spot located next to the field where local people were playing pentaque. All the tables were overlooking the lake, which made the whole dinner very relaxing. Of course, the great food helped. We both had the delicious aubergine parmigiana with a pesto sauce served with a great gluten free roll to start. Instead of layers of aubergine, they served half an aubergine filled with pieces of this vegetable and mixed with a sweet tomato sauce - mouth wateringly good! Due to my lactose allergy I shouldn’t eat this dish, but Parmesan is so low in lactose that I make exceptions and this exception was worth it! They asked whether we wanted to take a break after our starter or whether we wanted to continue with the main course. Such a question in a busy restaurant is so rare and was greatly appreciated. Our servers in general were so nice and Slawi even brought Blue a bowl of water which he gratefully drank. Now on to our main courses. I had the gluten free seafood linguine and it was fantastic! My husband had the grilled veal chop with vegetables. It was robust and succulent. The male server said: “I wanted to take the bone home to my dog but there’s nothing left on it.” As you can tell, my husband loved his dish. To finish, we had decaf coffees and my husband also had a lemon sorbet with vodka. Afterwords, we went for a lovely stroll along the lake reminiscing of the great...
Read moreDid not live up to my expectations. Some of the prawns in the signature carpaccio were not fresh, salt distribution was very uneven, the risotto rice was undercooked, and the Ossobuco itself tasted like canteen food (sorry about this, but I make that better at home). It was not tender and quite unimpressive. The second plate of tagliolini with truffels I ordered after returning the Ossobuco to the kitchen was cooked to a different point, which left me with the impression that the kitchen simply did not really care. The atmosphere is very nice and the waiters very attentive but the kitchen disappointed, way...
Read moreJust a fantastic Italian restaurant! Great atmospere and the food is simply delicious. Service is professional, kind, perfect really. Since we live in Luzern we come here often. Every time we leave more than happy! Since a couple of weeks they also serve Apfelstrudel for dessert. I’m 61 years old and it’s truly the best one I’ve ever eaten! Be patient, it takes a while to prepare as the chef makes it from scratch. You will not be dissapointed! Klinglers for me is super! 👍👍👍 Always a treat to...
