The service was as bad as it gets but the food was pretty good. If you want decent Chinese food and you don’t mind feeling indebted to the staff and like you and your friends must work for the meal— then go here! It was hard to order drinks or ask for anything. Also, please note this is NOT in Old Town. It’s on the water in the Grand Hotel building… near old town. Gorgeous spot, but not Old Town.
Additional comments: the restaurant's response to my above post does not account for the fact that the wait staff did not "wait on" anyone at our table, rather my friend, who organized our large dinner on new years day, waited on us all. We pre-ordered our meals, yet the staff took no responsiblity for ensuring we 1) had enough food, 2) had enough drinks, 3) knew what we were eating, or 4) we were happy... Yet, my extremely gracious friend who organized two tables of diners played manager-- of everything! I didn't complain during the meal because I didn't want to make her feel worse. At the end, a big basket of "gifts" was delivered to everything at the table except for my friend. The gifts were fortune cookies. Yet the waitress/hostess gave my friend a bigger package, and for a minute I was happy that at least she was getting recognized for managing us all and for bringing the restaurant so many local customers. However, my friend opened the "gift" to find the bill. It was the final...
Read moreOrdered 2 appetizers. What they brought were different looking, but we figured it was just their versions of the appetizers. So, we started eating it. Our server comes and says they brought us the wrong appetizers (which we didn’t end up liking) and that she had cancelled our actual appetizers and added the ones we didn’t order to our bill since we had started eating it. I paid for the appetizers and drinks and left. Terrible way to handle that situation. They get a negative rating for the service and since all we ate were parts of the 2 appetizers we didn’t order they get a negative rating on the food too. We spent 70.00 for a sprite, tea and appetizers we didn’t order or like. Just know if you go you’re gonna pay for whatever they deliver to your table whether or not you or the ordered it or like it. And now we’re looking for another restaurant to eat dinner. First bad experience in Lucerne....
Read moreAppetizers were fast, hot and good. Food took another 45 minutes because a large party came in. Beef and vegetables were actually cold and server said she would microwave it but didn't offer a clean plate to put newly hot food. Almond chicken was overcooked and dry with water in the vegetables. We ask for salt which is unusual in a chinease restaurant. We were a party of 5 and not 1 dish was finished. When the server noticed no one had eaten much, at that time she ask if we wanted soy sauce or other condiments. After the owner said she would remake the beef and vegetables we told her that should have been the offer when server was told it was cold, not an offer to microwave it. She did not charge for that dish after some discussion, but the rest of the food was bad. 5 hungary people could easily consume 4 meals if...
