Was really excited to eat here and after a nice hike from Zermatt to the Gornerschluct, we took the path that leads you straight to this quaint little village. The path for the Gorner Gorge leads you to the rear of this place and as it was around 4pm and they had some comfortable chairs and a playground, we decided to stop. Our plan was to eat when they opened and hang out in the back letting our 18 month old granddaughter play until then.
As we were making our way to the swing set an older gentlemen shouts out to us to tell Mr. Trump hello in a somewhat belligerent tone. No big, says we, and off to the swing set while the baby's dad sat down in a lounge chair. Young lady comes up to him and asks if he wanted something to drink, which we all thought was polite, but when he informs her he's waiting until we eat, she gets all nasty with him. Our experience at Restaurant Blatten in Zermatt was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled on the slopes, it offers the perfect blend of elevated mountain cuisine and a lively après-ski atmosphere.
The food is minimalist in presentation yet sophisticated in flavor, with each dish carefully crafted and perfectly balanced. Every bite was simply delicious. We enjoyed a refined rosé wine, which complemented the meal beautifully. The highlight was the apple fritters dessert, paired with a delicate cinnamon ice cream—an elegant and comforting finish.
The après-ski experience was equally exceptional, with live music creating a vibrant and cozy ambiance, making it the ideal spot to relax after a day on the slopes.
In short, Restaurant Blatten delivers the best mountain dining combined with a memorable après-ski experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking exquisite cuisine and warm alpine...
Read more• The best restaurant near to Zermatt, what a nice experience! We went without a reservation and at the end of the day, but it was the best food we’ve had. The service is fast and Dori was "okay" with us, could be friendlier, but it’s fine.
• The location is perfect; we found the restaurant on the way from Furi Station to Zermatt. And the VIEW is worth the stop! I recommend the outdoor tables if the weather is good because it's very pleasant.
• We ordered the Alplermakkaroni (CHF 24), the Tartar Rind (CHF 35), and for dessert, the Zitronenküchlein (CHF 13). Everything was absolutely delicious and well-made! Worth every bite!! [prices from June/24]
• The restaurant is a must-go, for sure. The place, the food, and the whole experience are worth it! I hope to be back one day!!
