Last week, I had the pleasure of staying at the Matterhorn Focus for a third time. This modern gem in Zermatt is stunning and the experience exceeded all expectations. Nestled against the majestic backdrop of the Matterhorn with stunning views of this iconic mountain, this hotel seamlessly blends contemporary luxury with the timeless beauty of its surroundings.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was captivated by the sleek and sophisticated design that permeates every corner of the hotel. The minimalist aesthetic, combined with warm earth tones, creates an ambiance of understated elegance. The large windows throughout the property provide a constant connection to the outside world, showcasing the stunning views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks.
The rooms at the Focus are a testament to modern comfort and style. The spacious accommodations feature chic furnishings, plush bedding, and state-of-the-art amenities. The panoramic windows offer uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn, allowing guests to wake up to the sight of snow-capped mountains and enjoy the sunset casting its warm hues over the landscape.
One of the highlights of my stay was the extensive list of amenities that Focus offers. The spa and wellness facilities are a haven of relaxation, complete with a heated indoor pool, sauna, and rejuvenating massage services. After a day of exploring the picturesque Zermatt, I found solace in the hotel's wellness oasis, indulging in a soothing massage that left me feeling rejuvenated.
However, what truly sets the Focus apart is its remarkable staff. From the moment I arrived, the entire team (Kristina, Tamara, Patricia, and Őzlem) went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail added a personal touch that made me feel like a valued and VIP guest. Whether offering recommendations for local attractions or ensuring a seamless check-in process, the staff's commitment to excellence was evident throughout my stay. Their kindness, attention to detail, congeniality, and helpfulness made my experience truly enjoyable and memorable.
The Matterhorn Focus is a modern haven in the heart of Zermatt, offering an unparalleled combination of stunning views, top-notch amenities, and an exceptional staff. If you're seeking a retreat that seamlessly blends contemporary luxury with the natural beauty of the Swiss Alps, look no further than this extraordinary hotel. My time at the Focus was nothing short of magical, and I can't wait to return to this enchanting...
Read moreAs part of our honeymoon trip, this was probably one of the most memorable places we've visited. Both zermatt and focus design hotel!
We had a 5 night stay at the royal suite as part of the honeymoon deal (horse ride + free cocktails + lomi lomi message and some other goodies)
-Service 100/5: First and foremost, incredible service!!, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the connection with the staff felt really cozy, it didn't feel pretentious, they were genuinely friendly and their service was top notch!
-The room 5/5: room was as beautiful as in the pics. Everything was fancy and well taken care of. Bed was quite comfy. The room contained an espresso machine with capsules and tea. We were welcomed with a beautiful honeymoon letter signed by the entire hotel staff which was heartwarming. We were also welcomed with a nice bottle of champagne on ice, and a bottle of red wine for us to enjoy in our room. The room also contained a nice large smart tv screen with netflix, a large balcony and an area guide. Bathroom was clean, beautiful and well maintained.
-Food 4/5: breakfast choices were many, about 90% of the food was high quality and fresh - and tasty of course (everything from bread to cheese, poultry, you name it). The only downside were some of the vegetables, they didn't seem fresh, and the salmon tasted a little oily.
-Drinks 5/5: cocktails were mixed on the spot, you can customize the mix to your liking which was a great plus. Breakfast drinks were quite great as well and so was the coffee.
hotel facilities and amenities 5/5: lots of options for those who would like to stay in and spend the day at the hotel, the wellness center has all wellness facilities (different types of saunas, hot/cold shock showers etc etc). Indoor large pool and an outdoor heated jaccuzi, a beautiful heated lounge to sit down and read with included afternoon snacks. And a bike docking station at the entrance. Everything was clean and well maintained of course.
Overall an amazing hotel and we had the most unforgettable time. I cant recommend this...
Read moreIt was a very nice stay at this hotel, it is nicely located just next to the glacier paradise cable car station, it is a bit far from train station, but they have pick-up service so you only need to tell them when you will arrive, the driver will come to the station to pick you up. The hotel is like its name, the design of the hotel is very modern and industrial style. I like the fragrance they put everywhere in the hotel, smells like pine trees, making you feel like walking in the woods. The staffs are nice and friendly, the whole checkin and checkout process are very efficient. While checking in, the staff treated me with a welcome drink. Room is spacious and clean, you have basically everything you need in it. There is a sky window in the room, which is very interesting. The breakfast is delicious with a lot of choices, but they don’t serve dinner here, you may need to order takeouts or go out to have dinner. The highlight must be the swimming pool, when you swim from the inner pool to the outside pool, the mountain view jumps right into your eyes, I really enjoyed them very much. There is also massage, but it requires nudity, I was too shy to do it. When I checked out, the staff at reception sent me a goodbye present, it was very nice. Meanwhile, there are something I think that can be improved. In the night, some bugs flied into the room, which was a bit annoying. There is an air-conditioner in the room, but it seems that the remote has been put away, the weather is indeed cool in the night, but in the daytime, it is still very hot, and the guests may need it. Lastly, the coffee machine was not cleaned very thoroughly, as I use it to get the hot water, there are coffee residue coming out with the hot water. But overall, I think it is a really nice hotel, the staff here paid much attention to all the details and cared about guests’ feelings, I enjoyed my stay in Zermatt much. If your travel budget is enough, I think it is the...
