RACIST PLACE if you are single south asian looking to enjoy dinner. I walked in asking for a table but the manager (European) looked at me and said only seating at bar which is an extremely tiny uncomfortable spot tight for even 2 people right by the entrance and facing very busy counter loading dirty dishes. I saw plenty of tables open so when I asked if I could be given a table, he said every table is reserved and would not accommodate. So I ended up reluctantly taking the bar seat. But soon after a couple walked in without reservation and he politely gave them a table. Then another large group of 5 walked in without reservation and he joined two tables and seated them. Then four more couples walked in without reservation and he seated them all at open tables. I know they didn’t have reservations because for those with reservations, he would ask their name then go behind counter to strike off their name in the register. For the ones without reservations, he would look around and point them to a table asking them if that’s ok then escorting them. Food was good (not great), staff very unfriendly and pushy, and manager racist. Please don’t go to this place that singles out people to be treated badly. Staff didn’t look...
Read moreThe food was good and pretty authentic, and the Thai staff were really helpful with their service. However, we were extremely put off by the cold demeanour of the native Swiss staff (possibly the owner of the restaurant?) The lady was rude to us from the moment we set foot into the store even though we did not do anything to offend her. I was rudely told to put my bottle of water away from the table despite already ordering a bottle of water from the restaurant. As a tourist, it is only normal that I carry water with me throughout the day. She even shoved my cap towards my table without making eye contact or providing any explanation, just because my cap was very slightly bordering an empty table next to mine. She was courteous and highly receptive to other tables who were local Swiss customers, but never once bothered to check on us. I believe that racial discrimination is extremely dated and insular, not to mention a highly unprofessional way of doing business. I do not recommend anyone who is hoping for a simple, homely Thai meal to visit...
Read moreWe reserved a table for 3 people at 5pm. We were the only people there and they gave us a table for 2 squeezing the 3 adults around the little table. (BTW we are all petite) We asked to change table to another corner table that seated 3. The man said no without giving any adequate explanation and was pretty rude. We sat down and ordered 5 dishes and obviously there was trouble with space on the table. A thai lady came over and served the food and the service became noticeably better. Perhaps it was the change of staff or because we ordered alot of food, I'm not sure. However it was appropriated. When she couldn't fit food on the table and she extended it for us (a feature of the table) which perhaps either the man who took orders earlier didn't know about, or didn't tell us. The food was tasty, portion size could have been bigger but on the whole the meal was great. If the service was consistent it would have had another star. We did get a complimentary small spinach soup which was (for me) very spicy but...
