Frustrating experience with a barista/coffee shop : No, we don't serve cappuccino in the clay cup because our coffee is to good and we don't want to spoil the exquisite taste of coffee by milk in these cups ... If they truly cared about taste, they wouldn’t serve cappuccinos in paper cups—which ruin flavor far more than milk ever could. And no, properly cleaned clay cups don’t retain or alter flavors. That excuse is nonsense. This isn’t about coffee quality—it’s about control. Sadly, in some Zurich cafés, the barista’s ego matters more than the customer’s preference.

Bottom line: If you’re paying for coffee, you deserve to enjoy it how you like it. If a shop can’t respect that—and their reasoning doesn’t even hold up—then they’re prioritizing their ego over hospitality. That’s not coffee culture; that’s just...

Ordered a latte. Standard for lattes, flat whites etc (at least to my knowledge), is that it should fill the cup to the top. At Bean Bank, they don't fill up the cup to the top, which isn't up to standard. The latte however is good. The crema is silky smooth and stays so for quite long, meaning it doesn't form larger bubbles over time, which is good. There aren't many seating possibilities inside, mainly outside a few benches which you may share with others. Staff are not particularely friendly and at least in my case I didn't feel that welcome when ordering here.

It's a good place to order a take-away if you are passing by, but I wouldn't specially come here from elsewhere in the city, there are better cafés in the city which are worth the displacement,...
