In General, Hiltl is my absolute favorite place in Zürich and I go there quite often. I even had my wedding celebrated with Hiltl catering. Great food, always fresh, flexible in the portions since you pay by weight. Today I was the first time a little disappointed by the attitude of your staff though. I took 2 loafs of bread for breakfast for 2 take away boxes and as a surprise, i had to weight them. This was new to me and i am 100% sure that I didn't pay for the extra bread (for breakfast) in the past. However, I can suppose now that these cases were by mistake. The lady at the counter just kept saying several times that I have to weight the bread while I was explaining the misunderstanding. In the situation, I'd would have expected either an offer of a compromise (weight one loaf of bread) or something like "I see there is a misunderstanding, let me get my supervisor". Luckily, there was a colleague sitting at a table working with a lap top and we came to a compromise, but the colleague or supervisor was involved only after a while. May be I missed a written sign that the extra bread (or the special breads) are not included in for breakfast and only for lunch and dinner. But if there is no sign, I'd appreciate one saying: "Selection of breads, 3.50/100g for take away, 4.50Fr./100g eat in." Many thanks in advance for your attention and also thanks for the great food! Kind...

Been here twice now and bothe experiences were pretty bad. Was there yesterday, wanted to order a drink I saw on the switchboard. The 15 year old looking waitress had bo idea what I was talking about, and of course it had switched so it wasn’t on the bord any more. She asked if I could find it on the menu and gave me a menu were there were literally 6 drinks on it. Then she went and got some barista and he said “oh, the bittersweet celery... that’s a lot of work... can I offer you a different drink?”.... WOW!! Then he started making the drinks, messed something up and had to restart, then walked away, ice in glasses melting and came back like 5min later and finished the drinks. It took us 20min to get our drinks from the time we ordered! I have no flue how this place can have such great ratings. Also a bad place to go out at night! 25 or 28 bucks to get in, mostly just machos and snobbish girls, decent dj, rather small and only two snails working the bar, so again getting drinks is a time consuming adventure.

So many other so much better places, why waste your time on...

As soon as I walked in I asked if there was a student discount, the guy at the counter responded “No” and I even asked if he was sure. I proceeded to get food and went back to the counter to pay. I asked the guy at the counter again, and he said no and gave me an annoyed look. After, a girl behind the counter said yes there is if you fill out this form on the website. I asked if they can do a one time exception today because I didn’t know and I showed them my valid student ID. They said no. This was terrible customer service!!!!! Not only this, but the food was not worth 24chf for half a plate of food. I will be recommending Tibits to people, they not only had good food, it was cheaper, and they told me about the student discount when I asked and even honored it that day until I filled out the form.

Update: the customer relations team responded to this review and suggested that I write an email to their team. I wrote this email to their team the day they suggested it. No response 2 weeks later. This is terrible...

Awesome vegetarian and vegan food, you can basically eat your way around the world from Thai curry to samosas, and pakoras; a variety of cold, salads, veggie pâté and the like. Juices, cocktails, mock tails and wine by the glass, as well as a full selection of hot beverages are available. Outdoor patio when the weather is nice, the only downside is that in Switzerland, people smoke on patios, so look and make sure the wind is blowing the other way. Takeout containers available, and delightfully cheeky graphics delineating the male and female washrooms. This branch of the main restaurant which has been open for 125 years does a great job. If it’s your first time in Switzerland, you probably don’t realize everything is about double the price you’re used to in North America. Take half the portion you think you’d like so you don’t get sticker shock when you see the currency conversion on your credit card. The celery schnitzel is absolutely phenomenal, I like it with a little bit of the pesto smeared on top. Gluten appetit!

If I lived in Zurich, I'd eat here everday. I'd be bankrupt but full and happy😊. Such an amazing selection of vegan & vegetarian foods, meat eaters will find something they'll like too - there's such a great selection. Whether you sit in or take away price is by weight and its really easy to get carried away. I tried 2 curries, 2 different pastas, 2 salads, onion rings, spring rolls and a few others. Only had little scoops but it still weighed over 500gs. There's quite a lot of seating, they also have phone charging stations in little metal lockers, free water (the cups are biodegradable) and yellow cherubs will vegetables in their hands hanging from the ceiling. A lot of the wines are vegan, theres also cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks too. I would happily come back here again and again. Also they won't let folk wearing fur in.

It’s a totally different experience. All dishes are vegetarian or Vegan. Indian and Arabic available as well. It’s like you collect what you want, how much you want and finally pay at the counter for the weight of the food you picked. It’s 5.5 CHF per 100 grams. So be smart when you select your items. Take away available as well with paper bowls and plates. That too weighed and priced. Most dishes taste good. That’s an added plus point. Suitable for vegetarian Indians and Muslims who want vegetarian as Halal cannot be ensured at all restaurants. I missed the Arabic bread/ Pita bread. Otherwise a wholesome experience.
