5 stars go to the Chef who made delightful dishes for our table. 1 - to service; the dark haired waitress with coarse voice was rude: she kept ignoring us, brought my drink 30 min after she did bring it to my guests without even saying a simple 'sorry', then just started taking away our plates with still food on them even though our 'cutlery' did say 'eating still in progress' and we said we were still eating; later on she just snatched our half eaten starters from the table and quickly walked away; she has also refused to take a photo of our group by stating: 'she was too busy right now', while just a second earlier she was cheat-chatting in Italian with a girlfriend of mine and was desperately trying to convince us to order a bottle of orange wine! Luckily her colleague, a very kind young lady, who takes reservations and coats, came to our rescue, took a photo for us and asked if everything was ok and if we needed anything. I mean, it wasn't even her job, but she was clearly trying to save the unpleasant situation caused by her unprofessional colleague (who walked away at the same moment just like that, by the way). So a big thank you to that other lady, the chef and the rest of hardworking staff and 'no, thank you' to...

A Memorable Evening at Brera - Zurich's Italian Gem

Discovering Brera in Zurich was an absolute delight! This charming Italian restaurant truly stands out for its exceptional dining experience. We opted for the Tavolata menu, and it did not disappoint. Each dish served was a testament to authentic Italian flavors, meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. From the starters to the exquisite main courses, every bite was a journey through Italy’s rich culinary landscape.

What set Brera apart was not just the food, but the ambiance. The Grotto cellar provided the perfect setting for our large group, offering a cozy yet spacious environment that felt both exclusive and welcoming. The cellar’s unique atmosphere, with its rustic charm and intimate lighting, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening, making it an unforgettable experience.

The staff at Brera were also commendable for their attentive and friendly service, ensuring our night was seamless and every need was met with a smile. It’s rare to find a place that combines great food, ambiance, and service so effortlessly. Brera is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy an exceptional Italian meal in Zurich. Highly...

We heard very good things about this place. Unfortunately we did not read the reviews before going here - I have to say all these descriptions couldn’t be more true.

Unfriendly and frankly quite rude service. We ordered our drinks, starters and main courses at the same time. Literally 30 seconds after our order, we waved down our waitress and asked if it was possible to change one of the main course items from pizza to pasta. She refused as it was already ordered. And reacted pretty rudely.

A couple of minutes later, the same waitress informed us the other dish we ordered was not available. As we thought this means the order “was not processed” (like she said) we asked if now it was possible to change. To which she snappily replied “I already said that it’s not possible.”

The service just went down from here. Actually, there was almost no service. We ended up waiting 90 minutes for the dish we couldn’t change. Food ended up being good but not outstanding. Disappointing.

Left no tip, to which we received an eye roll. Do not recommend. Not...

We came here for dinner with a group of friends and had some wine , we each had an “antipasto” ( I would recommend the Ceviche from the picture below), and we then shared a couple of pizzas, so far the food was very good! Unfortunately, some of us we then order some simple and classical spaghetti vongole, that were TRULY THE WORSE spaghetti vongole I had ever tried in my life!!! This is a very traditional and simple dish to prepare but they decided to mix SO MANY different flavors and, believe you me, non of those “flavors” worked well together, it was a shocking to know how bad the pasta was in a supposedly Italian place!

It's a nice restaurant. We tried the pizzas and an entry to share, the portions are a perfect size, and yes, I think both dishes were delicious. I would say the pizza is on the expensive side. We also ordered cocktails, and they were delicious. The downside or something they could improve on is the timing of serving food. It took way over one hour to get the pizzas, the place was not full, and we waited around 40 minutes between the entry and the main dish, which was annoying since waiting that long makes you lose appetite. The service was really polite.
