slurp. — Restaurant in Zurich

One of my favorite coffee spots in Zurich. Quite literally a hidden gem (it’s tucked into a courtyard and not quite where Google places it) One of their two blends is exceptional—a fruity light roast that worked brilliantly well in milky drinks. The barista is also one of the few I’ve encountered in Zurich that knows how to steam plant based milk—no watery or soapy, sad attempts in this café. They use Oatly. And the latte art is top notch too :D Finally, hats off to the effort they put into the overall experience: table service, funky decor, fun yet comfortable seating, friendly staff, gorgeous mugs, coffee nicely served in trays… In other words, the sort of experience I hope to get, but more often than not lack, when getting a nice coffee.

My two gripes are 1) They have an upcharge for plant-based milk and it’s a hefty one. It’s the reason why I don't go back too regularly (there are nearby spots with coffee that is almost as good and no upcharge). 2) Their baked goods are mediocre and SO overpriced. Like the banana bread is some packaged thing they pull out of a plastic bag like a supermarket shelf cake and yet a slice costs double what a nice, freshly baked pastry would cost at nearby John Baker.

So if you go just for the coffee and the nice setting, it’s worth it. But...

It's special place in the middle of Zürich, hidden in quiet district in a backyard is it not easy to find but definitely worth it! the Coffey is outstanding and the small backing goods and snacks are well chosen. The Guys are super nice and always up for a chat and will give you a warm Wellcome. The place has a very trendy and still unique feeling, some of the garage-vibe (it was before) is still hanging in the air, together with art of local artists hanging around you feel at the right place. Loved the place and probably best flat white I’ve had in Zurich. Super friendly barista, he even brought water for Cheko my dog, thank you! Just had the brownie but looking forward to trying the focaccia and of course the full bar with excellent selection. Ambiance is chill, perfect for conversations or work.
