We just went there and wanted to order. I understand the place was full, so it took sometime for the baristas to be ready for taking the order. I must have misunderstood, but I thought one of the baristas finally gave me a sign that she‘s ready to take my order. I wanted to order in German (how could I have known that they only speak english) but they very rudely made clear that they only speak english. Then I asked if I could order, and they reacted as if it was the biggest inconvenience - the male barista than impatiently told me that he still has another order to take. It‘s completely fine and I understood, but they reacted super unfriendly and very „unsympathisch“ as how we‘d say in German. But making me feel as if I was the inconvenience for wanting to make an order in German is just a no go. Maybe caught them in the wrong moment!
UPDATE: Since I cannot directly respond to the owner's comment, I'm updating my review here. I did not intentionally skip the line. As mentioned, I misunderstood the situation and genuinely thought it was my turn. I had no way of knowing that the seated couple, who were not standing in line, were next to order. Given that customers place their orders at the counter, I assumed standing in line was the right way to order. There’s no reason to react so rudely to a simple misunderstanding. The defensive tone of your response...
Read moreI'm so glad Nick has opened Commercial here right in the heart of Zurich. This place is the perfect spot for speciality coffee enthusiasts or people that just appreciate a great coffee.
I walked in recently in Kreis 4, and the vibe was just what i needed. The interior has a really light and peaceful feel to it, which I loved and the welcome and feel from Nick was so inviting.
Let’s talk coffee. The filter, it's something else! I mean, if you're into a premium coffee, I had a Sidra from Ecuador, you've got to try it. It's a must-try when you're in Zurich. There is a nice selection of pastries too.
And the staff? Super friendly and welcoming. Nick makes you feel right at home from the moment you step in. He's a chef in coffee in the best way... I love when someone has a deep knowledge and sense about their coffee and invites you into the process in an informal way... the whole experience for me was so natural and warm, I felt right at home.
Plus, if you’re around Aussersihl, Kreis 4 and looking for a spot to chill with a friend or catch up on some work, Commercial is a great place. Great atmosphere for both a quick coffee run or if you want to sit back and enjoy.
Can't recommend this place enough! If you find yourself in Zurich, do yourself a favour and drop by Commercial.

Read morePerfect coffee, cozy place, friendly people. My favorite coffee spot in Zurich by far! Commercial offers truly all could want in a specialty coffee shop experience: a selection of high quality beans to suit every palate, a modern interior with still practical and comfortable seating, tasty pastries, kind and expert baristas, beautiful mugs and coffee presentation, etc. My coffee has been fantastic every time—very nice blend and oat milk steamed and poured to perfection! A nice bonus: no upcharge for oat milk!! I also find the prices to quite reasonable for Zurich. More so than most similar places, especially considering the high quality of their offerings. Nico, the owner, as well as any of the baristas I've had the pleasure of meeting are all some of the friendliest and kindest people I’ve encountered in Zurich. No snobs or condescension to be found here. Whether you are a coffee connoisseur or just looking for a warm beverage and shelter from the rain you will feel welcomed and get exactly what you hoped for. If you're looking for amazing coffee as well as a top notch coffee shop experience in Zurich,...
