Excellent food and service with classic personal style from classically uniformed crew of waiters, who bring your food to a separate serving table for final preparation. Quite expensive at ~70 CHF for dinner not including wine, but perhaps worth it considering the attention you get. I recall the waiter had to set an extra place for me and he precisely arranged each implement "just so" with a small smile. My osso bucco with pomme fritte was perfect. While the food was good, the service was odd, ranging to bizarre. It didn't help that we started with the door closed in my partner's face as we were two minutes early for our 18:30 booking. But then there was pressure to have the house special rather than let us choose from the menu, and unwillingness to show us a wine list to choose from. The culmination was when a second portion of our main course choice was brought, once we'd finished the first portion, with the explanation 'this is how we do it'. Casa Ferlin is a restaurant that has been serving the best Italian food over 120 years. Anyone visiting Zurich must try the homemade ravioli and in the white truffle(Tartufo) season which is beginning in October, one must try tagliolini with white truffles. Each course ordered is wiped clean and the kitchen wonders the dishes were used at all. I may sound biased but only if you try you will know that my review is an honest one.
