Lamassu Specialty Coffee was a pleasant surprise. It’s not exactly hidden, but it does feel a little tucked away and discreet, which makes walking in feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special. The setup is simple and unpretentious, but the coffee is what really makes it stand out. We tried espresso with milk, and it was excellent. Smooth, balanced, and clearly made with care. It’s the kind of drink that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy it instead of rushing through. What I liked most was that the place doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be trendy or overly curated. It’s straightforward, and the quality speaks for itself. Their tagline about society being “too realistic” made me smile, and I’m glad to say their coffee is good for real. It’s always nice when a spot has a bit of personality without being over the top. Overall, Lamassu is the kind of coffee shop you’d recommend to someone who appreciates good coffee but doesn’t need all the extra fuss. It’s nicr, it’s reliable, and it delivers exactly what you want from a specialty coffee shop.

I have been exploring cafe and coffee beans in Europe. Their bean ‘classic’ fits my preference the most. Significant higher than my second favorite, or maybe there is no second favorite yet. I bought one bag of beans back home. For the first time, I fully understand why some people say that as long as the beans is good, all other factors does not matter anymore, eg, type of milk, technical parameters. Next time when I visit Zurich again, I will definitely buy 10 bags of beans. I wonder could the beans be ordered online and delivered to other countries?

The cafe doesn't really provide seating. It's truly mainly for take-away. Staff are knowledgable and friendly. We ordered 2 cappuccino. The crema was very silky smooth. You can choose between different beans. One offers more nutty roasted flavours, the other more fruity. In any case, the staff will be able to guide you if you aren't sure of what you want. Overall, highly recommed. Belongs to the top cafés in Zurich.

I have been a regular visitor and have always enjoyed coming here for the quality of service and the atmosphere. However, my recent experience has left me quite disappointed. A new staff member’s attitude came across as pretentious and, frankly, rude, which was very unlike what I’ve come to expect from this place. When I politely asked for a little extra milk, I was abruptly told off, which felt unnecessary and unkind.

This interaction has unfortunately made me question whether the welcoming environment I’ve always appreciated is changing. While I understand that everyone has off days, consistent customer service is a big part of why I visit regularly. I’m hesitant to return now and hope this feedback encourages the management to address...
