Read morewhen we entered the establishment we were greeted by very pink, flowery and very over the top decor and room design. the atmosphere in the café is unique and matches the "instagram food influencer" aesthetic. so does the presentation of the food and drinks. everything is well thought out and looks great to post. as my cousin would say "everything in café elena is very instagrammable", which i agree with.
we visited café elena in a rather big group of seven people. everyone ordered something different to eat and drink. we also added a bagel that we shared among our group. the food was really tasty, i heard no complaints from any of my family members. the drinks also were very tasty and unique. sadly the pink hot chocolate wasn't really hot when we got it. the hot chocolate could at most be described as luke-warm. in my opinion, while the food tasted great, the portion sizes were kind of small and that is why i don't think the prices are justified. it is very expensive and eventhough the quality ofnthe food is good, it does not match the price of the individual items. if money isn't a big concern for you, café elena delivers good and tasty food and drinks, that are a bit on the more expensive side... even for zürich.
sadly, whilst our service wasn't bad at all, it wasn't the best either. we noticed that another customer had to wait a rather long while, before she got seated. the service was nothing to write home about, but its...
Read moreI went there with my 2 best friends and ordered 3 things. Where the service lady at the cashier gave us a really weird look which made us uncomfortable. The three meals we chose where on their “most recommended” menu. It cost us more than 120 which is okay since we divided by three. But it was still quite expensive, please do mind that we are students and we don’t have proper jobs. Anyways the food it self was good but it wasn’t something new or different. It was mostly for the pictures and instagram. the place itself looked really dull, the lights where dark which some suits some restaurants aesthetic and stuff but it’s a cafe and the pink walls just looked so sad so did the flowers, which i found quite sad. What also sort of disappointed me is when my friend accidentally spilled her coffee and none of the employees helped us. my friend went to the bathroom took papers and cleaned everything by herself. the employees just watched and 2 of them just looked at us as if we where not being polite (accidents do happen) they also talked “bad” of us. At that time we didn’t see it as a problem cuz we wanted to solve the problem fast, but now i wish we did cuz it’s quite rude and they could’ve helped. overall i would say it’s a nice one time visit if you’re curious but if i’m being honest it’s nothing new nor special. and students can really save...
