Marguita Restaurant — Restaurant in Zurich

Very disappointing and unexpected dinner. We shared a Niçoise salad , which is one of my favourites however this salad has nothing to do with the famous Niçoise salad. A few soft torn pieces of lettuce, 2 green beans which are usually the star of it however here they were practically non existent. No tomatoes, no potatoes, no red onion, and NO proper dressing. Thick white dressing covering everything and after discussing this with the staff they said they just use their vitello tonnato dressing on the salads as well. Huh?? 38 chf for 4 minuscule pieces of tuna that wouldn’t satisfy even an infant. And also some weird type of blended pepper sauce on to bottom that doesnt fit the flavour profile or make any sense besides not tasting well. Moving on to mains; pasta vongole, bottom was fine, the top was dry as if it was standing under the kitchen light for a long time. Also very flour-y. To continue: bouillabaisse, sauce sour, white fish inside dry and stringy for some reason. The staff is unorganised, we salt and pepper shakers mixed, wine bottle brought over but not poured, just left on the table (ordered just 1 glass). Forgetting correct utensil. Honestly besides the view of the garden nothing was up to any type of swiss dining standards, nevertheless a 5 star hotel one. I was extremely excited to dine here but will unfortunately not return. What a wonderful dining experience! The food was fantastic and the service couldn't have been better. The atmosphere was warm, and the decor was fitting.

For starters, we had the white truffle pasta (very good), the tartar (prepared expertly at the table), and the crab rossini. The tartar was rich in flavours and can be adjusted to taste while being made. The crab and foie gras rossini was a decadent combination that I would order again any time.

For the main course, I had the wagyu with black rice and Swiss chard, my goodness was this tasty. The sides complimented the soft, flavourful meat without overpowering it.

For dessert, we ordered the "pearl", souffle, tiramisu, and the chocolate bean. All of which were said to be very good. Personally, the souffle was everything I could have hoped for, and seeing them plate it at the table was lovely as well.

The service was very attentive, kind, and patient, answering the many questions we asked.
