After having tried the branch in Taichung, we decided to try the one in Taipei. Had the Flat Iron this time, and enjoyed it a lot more, coz it tasted more tender than the tenderloin that I had, which was not supposed to happen since tenderloin is usually the most tender.
Salad bar was the same, with a decent selection of both cooked and raw items, such as your greens, tomatoes, corn etc. Since I'm not a fan of raw salad, there were still enough cooked items that interested me, such as the veggie tomato soup, pumpkin soup, japanese curry, and bread with real butter as opposed to margarine.
Plus, this location used a plastic lid to cover their bread, so flies couldn't get in. On top of that, they have special plates with sectionals, which can be conveniently used for each of your bread's condiments like butter, olive oil, or balsamic vinegar. There was often a line for the bread, prob coz the bread don't get crispy enough on the first try. I"ll let the restaurant figure this one out.
Oh, did I mention BEETs? Yes, they have BEETs! How often do you find Beets at restaurants in Taiwan? Overall, a decent experience, and a tad better than the one...
Read moreWe were dining there recently and had a really bad experience. I will start with the good side of it. The salad bar is actually quite nice. Lots of choices and interesting ingredients, some I've never even tried before. The mushroom soup that day was good as well. Now the bad side. The curry that day was burned and you can see they tried to hide it by adding tons of pepper. So it tasted very peppery and burned. None of us enjoyed our main meat dish. It was really bad. I had a stew and the meat that came with it was with cartilages and lots of fat. And most of us had a beef burger patty that was like a paste, with texture never seen before and it tasted weird. My wife had lamb and it was chewy and with lots of tendons. And for the price of $600 NT it was very little. Overall all meat dishes were very chewy and with weird texture or taste. For the price we paid, we expected it to be high quality food. All we got is very mediocre quality and will not be getting back to this...
Read moreThe best steak set and outstanding salad bar with lots,to feel full after just,2 dishes, soup and bread you bake very delicious. Tea was great, will have to go back, try the desserts and fruit. The,staff were very friendly and able to give, usseats without reservations but at 5pm they were completely booked. Great parking lot too. Hoped to do some shopping since it is located inside a department store but my son had to leave quickly. I will definitely go back as soon as I possibly can. We had another great meal steak and salmon with the same excellent salad bar. My steak was delicious, perfectly cooked. Soup was so good I had 3 bowls. It was a wonderful place to go for a...
