A [would come again / 還會再來]

· its famous braised pork rice in the Second Market (known by many tourists to come when in Taichung)

· ordered their signature 魯肉飯 for 75 NTD + meatball soup for 35 NTD as of May 2025

· good braised flavor thats perfect with rice

· auntie staff spoke some English and was friendly

· i like how you can ask for leaner or fattier meat to customize

· i wanted lean meat but it still looked incredible fatty??

· there was a long line here around 5 PM (very popular with locals)

tldr: worth a try when in Taichung...

Excellent late night diner in the heart of Taichung. Cheap as always at $100NTD for a combo meal with their signature braised pork and $30 for a nice meatball soup.

Lu Rou Fan combo Pork: S+, 8.5/10. Skin and fat were super juicy and tasty. The meat was a little dry / chewy. Sides: S, 8/10. All excellent Rice: S, 8/10.

Braised pork rice was so juicy and flavourful. The meat was soft, oily and tender, it melts in your mouth. It's located within the Second Market, and opens til late night. It seems popular amongst locals. Can get a little confusing ordering but the ladies though busy, were friendly, patient, and helpful. Place your order for dine in / take away, pay, then get a seat.
