NewTro x Dessert — Restaurant in Taichung

I have been a couple of times, and it has a very calming atmosphere if you are the first customer. It has a very energetic buzz once everyone arrives and the house is full.

I absolutely love the banana bread and the carrot cake desserts. The carrot cake is less sweet than I expected, but the different flavors really stand out so I don't miss any of the sugar. It's like a more refined carrot cake that you have to eat slowly in order to really appreciate it. The banana bread reminds me of what my grandma used to make, so I'm a huge fan.

I also really like that I can talk to the owner/maker of these desserts. She's very friendly and I am so excited for her in this new venture! Nothing but the best wishes for...

This is a totally fabulous place for some of the most amazing traditional European pastries in Taichung. My favorite, and probably the most famous one during strawberry season, is the strawberry puff pastry because it reflects a wonderful balance of healthfulness, deliciousness, and pure pleasure.
