My family booked 3 rooms (2 Twin + 1 Double) in this hotel and got assigned to three different rooms on 3 different floors. I’d say room quality is a bit of a hit or miss. Despite paying the same rate for two out of three rooms, all our rooms were of different layouts and types.
All the rooms were spacious enough, although the bathroom of one of the twin rooms might be narrow for some. There were many amenities provided like fridge, TV, toiletries, water bottles, tables, cupboards and even a small sofa! In one of the twin rooms, the only ‘window’ is barely bigger than a vent, while in the other room, the windows are big and good. There seems to be no ventilation in the toilet so the windows are all the more important. One of my sis got a hard bed type in her double room, while both the bed and sofa in our twin rooms were super comfortable.
There was no room-to-room phone service and Wifi was spotty - totally died during my last night there. Every morning, we will go down to grab our breakfast in a takeaway bag and dine at the beautiful dining area with chill soft music. The relaxing space had a nice design theme and was not crowded or noisy when we’re there. The food is average to good. Although I don’t drink coffee, my sis commented that the coffee quality was inconsistent.
The staff were polite and helpful.. to an extent. When we checked in, they gave us two keycards for each room when requested, which was much appreciated. They also never failed to greet us whenever we pass them by at the lobby. However, when my sisters had issues with the rooms, like the hard bed type which is uncomfortable to her, etc, they were not able to resolve the issues effectively. There was also a small miscommunication that resulted in no housekeeping for my room during our 4 days stay there, even though we expected it. To avoid fuss, we opt to just change the towels when we...

Read moreWe had a delightful stay at the Hotel Huru House.
Super clean, nicely spacious room with everything you need (kettle, fridge, closets, good water pressure and heat, excellent AC) including nice big windows with darkening curtains, and a small couch for lounging. Located on a quiet street so noise was not an issue. Bed was quite firm as others have mentioned, but we loved it. It was great for our back and hips after long days of walking and hiking. Breakfast is a simple a la carte Taiwanese breakfast and delivered daily from a local restaurant. Various coffee and tea options available in a lovely lounge/cafe on the first floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we loved that we could just tell them when we wanted the housekeeping. Wifi was pretty bad but that seems very common in Taiwan hotels so recommend you just rent a wifi puck from a local telco for the length of your stay. Coin-operated washing machine with built-in cold air dryer and water dispensers on each floor.
The combination of price, cleanliness, location, breakfast, and staff’s hospitality made it by far one of the best budget hotels we’ve stayed anywhere...
