北投巧涼古早味冰熱甜品 — Restaurant in Taipei

Visited on a weekday night and it was raining. It didn't deter me from wanting to eat cold desserts. Came with a friend here and thought we could order more. At least got to try 2 items because my friend wanted a hot dessert and I wanted a cold one. For the hot one we ordered a soya beancurd and we could choose 3 toppings, and the cold one was one of their signatures and also my favourite: shaved ice with taro and milk. Was quite shocked when it was served didn't realize that the portion was so big! Kinda regretted and thought we should just order one to share. The hot one was quite comforting to eat on a cold day. We were surprised when we ate and we felt the beacurd was so smooth and silky it could just slide down the throat. It went well with the toppings we selected, will always taste good with beans and nuts. The next cold one I really liked it a lot. There was a lot of milk and it looked like it will be very sweet but in actual fact it was not. Ice was quite smooth and the taro was also very soft you don't need much effort to chew them. Really got an overdose of taro after this dessert and they were just too generous with the ingredients. Very good desserts and big portions and value for money. Found this place by accident, there were at least 2 other ice shaving shops within 10-20 steps of each other. Standard pricing is NT$65 for most of their ice related mixes.

One other ice-product shop (about 20-30 steps away) always has a long queue but they only do take-outs (I find this difficult to do taking out an ice-shaving, under the sun, on a hot summer day, and living 20 mins away by scooter. Tried one hot tofu pudding with soy milk and one shaved ice. Will definitely be back because of the cheap prices and the variety of toppings you can put in.
