蟬吃茶 Chan Chih Tea — Restaurant in Xinyi District

A tea shop that embodies the essence of Taiwan.

We dropped by while waiting for 101 to open after seeing the high reviews and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of drinks, excellent mannerism of the shopkeep and the reasonableness of the prices.

Being early in the morning it was just the nice lady tending to the shop by herself. We had a bit if time to chat with her and she welcomed us with sample tasters and stories that made us feel like home.

It's said that they used local Taiwanese tea, instead of cheaper imports. Both oolong and black tea variants are refreshing and filling with the tapioca pearls. Because they use LINE chatbot for ordering, it would be a busy joint around lunch time and on.

This is one of the best tea shops we have ever been to and it really left a lasting aroma in this trip.

Highly recommend if you want some bubble teas near Taipei 101. There were some customers waiting in line, showing how popular this shop is to locals. The owner was very kind and had a beautiful smile. I ordered Oolong milk tea(can't remember the exact name) with taro balls and it was a hit! Loved the tender taste with the taro balls texture. 金玉拿鐵是混合了金萱和紅玉調製而成，入口卻有淡淡咖啡焦香，完全逸脫我對金萱和紅玉的想像；我因從不喝咖啡，此茶剛入舌便驚異於此一咖啡香氣，惟尚能品味此店金玉之香，大抵上此款茶葉應另混有決明子調味，方才有此一咖啡香氣。

我想喜歡咖啡紅茶的客人，來此或許可以一嚐金玉茶或金玉拿鐵。

蟬吃茶的拿鐵採用高大鮮乳，店家豪氣給了不少鮮奶，因此搭配起來奶香是略淡了些。平日素不喜偏淡的奶茶，可此處茶香四溢、入口回甘，略淡的口味反而能襯托原始茶香，兩者比例均衡，非常好喝。

櫃台上老闆置有梨山茶供來客試飲，一喝發現是加了糖的梨山茶，只是順口嚷了一聲好甜，老闆娘在後場一聽，立刻親手酙上ㄧ杯無糖梨山茶供我試飲，此茶滋味甚好，口口回甘外還相當潤喉，喝完也不生舌苔，生津止渴，莫過於此。

站在櫃檯邊喝邊和老闆娘閒聊，一旁還有鄰居媽媽向我拍胸脯保證她照三餐來這買茶喝，這裏茶是掛保證的好喝。

閒談間飲畢手中那一個玻璃杯滿滿的茶水，望向有十二個兄弟姊妹老闆娘的親切笑臉，或許就是有這麼多兄弟姐妹，「分享」對老闆娘而言信手拈來、自自然然！
