Thai Bazaar Breeze Xinyi Restaurant — Restaurant in Xinyi District

I had high hopes for this spot. The food tasted delicious in the restaurant as I had thoroughly enjoyed the steamed lemon fish in particular. However I proceeded to have the worst msg headache right after. Worst is that when there is a lot of msg it leaves me sleepy and with a very dry mouth. Maybe the msg is used to compensate for the all you can eat meal? I don’t know. Service was stretched thin as there seems to be only 3 servers and they can barely handle the guests. We had to ask 3x for a plate to be cleared in order to make room for the huge fish dish. The restaurant also has terrible acoustics. There was a group that was extremely loud and we would barely hear ourselves. Tables around us had to talk even louder to compensate. This was a disappointing experience for me. Sadly won’t be coming...

The food is good, a lot of bold and spicy flavors. Nothing exceptional, but solid.

However, the service and restaurant atmosphere in general left a lot to be desired. Our waitress was impatient and looked unhappy to be there. The sound system was way too loud, the music actually sounded distorted - it was very unpleasant having the music blasted into my ears. The floors were also a bit wet and dirty in spots.

Overall I'd say there are definitely better options for Thai food nearby, but this restaurant...

Pretty authentic. I liked the raw shrimp salad. Not sure why they put all that mush on the shrimps instead of a piece of garlic and a piece of chili, which is what I'm used to. The curry was a bit disappointing, the coconut taste was off and too little fish sauce was used. No condiments on the table, which would have been appropriate for an authentic Thai restaurant.
