Special Tendon (Tempura Rice Bowl) ($419): There are fried shrimps, white fish, sea sedge, and a soft boiled egg. This has been my top choice and my favourite part is when the rice and the runny eggs are mixed together and that creates an amazing and gluey texture.

Moreover, I paid an extra $99 to make it a set meal with 2 extra things (6 choose 2). 6 choose 2: Light grapefruit flavoured sparkling drink: It tastes quite tangy, slightly sour and syrupy. Grapefruit Ice Cream (soft serve): It’s placed in a cone and has a tarted and sweet flavour.

When it comes to the location, it’s situated on the B2F inside SKM building A8. It’s the most economical way that you take the MRT to Taipei City Hall and walk for a few minutes to get here.

In conclusion, definitely the place where you can enjoy the most authentic tempura rice bowl at mid-range prices. I’ve been to the branch at Taipei Main Station several times and the Special Tendon has become one of my favourite dishes ever. Overall, it’s a 10 out of 10!

Haven't had Tendon for such a long time. Given the price, we were at first surprised at how little the portion was. However, by the end of the meal, we were satisfied and full so maybe the bowl just looked small. We ordered the one with shrimp and fish without the eel since we are not into eel. Everything tasted just like Japan. Even the seaweed was very good. We got the set meal with the miso soup and the sparkling pomelo drink which was delightful as well. I use to come here every two weeks or so and the store and the portions were somewhat large at the time but now it has shrunk and so has the bowls. I went there with two of my friends and they only had two seat tables, there are also individual seats(like a bar type of seats). There were two slots but the waiter just had the people behind us take it because they were two people, my other friend had to wait an extra ten minutes to get the seat and sat apart from us.
