KURA SUSHI Breeze Songgao Branch — Restaurant in Xinyi District

A friend told us that kura sushi is better than sushi Ro so we had to try it for ourselves. It's a solid 4.2 but not perfect of course. my verdict- sushi Ro is better tasting. The bad ones first, the cheap ikura was tiny and tasteless, uni was promising at first bite but had a very bitter and I pleasant after taste. Salmon belly was good, didn't make me want to order more. Grilled salmon without junk on top was not as good as the salmon belly. The limited edition salmon with kumquat was surprisingly good. You get what you pay for. We liked the sweet shrimp and got a bunch of that even though the rice fell apart which I don't think it should. The chawanmushi was better than sushi Ro for sure, very tasty and salty but with just tiny mushroom and chicken inside. We go the scallion tuna handroll which was awful, very little fish which you can't taste at all and not very memorable. The tuna scallion sushi on the other hand was good though, maybe it's the proportion of the fish vs the other stuff. Udon was fine not amazing as expected. We go the macha and milk frozen yogurt and the macha part was no good but the milk part was delicious. Spent about 1000NT and was stuffed. Would return for the chawanmushi, sweet shrimp, salmon belly, and tuna...

Good sushi at a reasonable price! They even offer a small prize when you reach a certain number of plates. In addition to the sushi nigiri on the conveyor belt, one can order from the ordering pad at the table, such as nigiri with 1/2 of the rice, ramen, hand rolls, fried items, and desserts.

It’s been a long time since we’ve visited a revolving sushi spot. It would have been nice if the host or hostess gave a quick refresher on how the system works—like taking plates directly from the conveyor belt—without us...

Once seated you have the option of choosing dishes from the conveyer belt or ordering off the screen. Lift the plate off the conveyor belt and once the plate disconnects, the top should spring open. My friend and I only figured this out toward the end after struggling lol I ordered mushroom tempura and kitsune udon off the screen. Both were really good! The broth was light and flavorful. Kitsune wasn’t too sweet. Tempura very crunchy! So fun to watch the dishes...
