La Farfalla — Restaurant in Xinyi District

It was my most favorite restaurant in Taipei.

I found this restaurant about a year ago and went there about twice a month. The menu and buffet from January 2025 were particularly good quality, and I was satisfied with many of the menus, buffet options.

However, when I visited in June 2025 for dinner, the menu was completely different from before, and the buffet contents had also been significantly changed. The smoked salmon, prosciutto, and abundant bread were removed, even tomatoes…and the buffet is now mainly Asian cuisine. I understand that it is an appetizer buffet, but I cannot understand why Asian cuisine makes up the majority of the menu despite it being an Italian restaurant. In addition, the pasta and buffet set menu has also disappeared, and if you want to eat it, you will need to order it as an a la carte from another restaurant. I cannot understand why there is no pasta in an Italian restaurant.

If the menu and buffet return to the way they were before, I would like to go to this restaurant again. It is really unfortunate that my favorite restaurant has become like this. I hope that the chef and GM will accept this...

If you expect unprofessional services and unwelcoming staff, it is the choice. We found the waitress sending different dish than what we ordered when the dish came, the waiter & waitress tried to deny first and then replied that they can change if we insist. The attitude of "no you are wrong but we comply with your needs" completely crashed the mood of the dinner. At first we might accept the mistaken dish if staff try to communicate, but the unprofessional attitude of blaming customer at the first moment & insisting it has certainly destroyed our friendliness at all. Absolutely avoid. Super expensive and service is non existent. It took us 40 minutes just to get the bill, and while we were waiting for the bill, staff told us we had to leave at 1:30. I hate writing bad reviews but when you get stuck at a place for this long and now are late for something else and get told to leave while you are trying to leave, but can’t leave because we aren’t being allowed to pay the bill, I have to make a remark about the service quality.
