Went on a busy Friday night, but got a table for two instantly. The server took our order and we got our drinks right away. The food took longer than I expected. We were just waiting for raw meat, so I thought it would arrive right away. It was really busy, so I can't really blame the staff. The server was actually very attentive throughout the night despite being very busy with other customers.
After we ordered our food and drinks, we were interviewed by a host. The host was very friendly and had a ton of energy. He asked questions to try to get to know us, and he did the same to other people in the restaurant. I noticed he only interviewed couples, so if you're by yourself or with friends, I guess you don't have to worry about being bothered. Later he introduced everyone to the whole restaurant through his mic. You don't really have to do anything. You just have to allow him to introduce you to the crowd. If you are an introvert, you may feel uncomfortable, but it will be worth it. Later we got free drinks, so we can't complain. 😆
Food is a little pricey, but everything was delicious. For the quality of food and service, we think it was worth it. Would definitely visit again and participate in another game and hopefully win free...
Read moreI have nothing to say about the service - there is no service at all. Just a few black-faced people bringing food to the table and then taking your money. They couldnt care about how you feel, what you need.
We went there for Japanese Wagyu - they told us we are not allow to choose the countrry of origin, they will give us accordingly. And we were told the Japanese Wagyu on the menu have no stock
Then they come to your table and ask you to "play-a-game" by guessing the weight of a piece of beef. Its not a game, its a trick to make you pay for a piece of lousy beef you wouldnt order on the menu.
While they are going ard the tables play the"game", they neglect the customers eating on the table already - we had to ask 3 times to have our cultery, plates and then another 2 times to ask for our rice and drinks - after that we dare not ask anymore - her face became darker.
To anyone thinking of going to Kanpai (esp this one at ATT) - there better shops in Taipei you can go to - My recommendation is to...
Read more2022/8/25 Kanpai Yakiniku is a must-visit for anyone who loves Japanese-style barbecue. Located in the heart of the city, this cozy and welcoming eatery boasts an impressive array of meat and seafood options, all of which are cooked to perfection on the grill right at your table.
On a recent visit with some colleagues, we started off with a few cold beers to whet our appetites. The draft beer was smooth and refreshing, and the perfect complement to the savory aromas wafting from the grill. We then proceeded to order a variety of meats, including pork belly, chicken leg with soy sause butter, and beef karubi with salted spring onion combo. Each cut was expertly marinated and grilled to just the right level of tenderness and smokiness.
The service was friendly with reasonable prices and a lively atmosphere, it's definitely worth a return visit....
