Latitude 25, the perfect hangout & meeting place!

At the Le Meridien, what must be my 10th stay and an absolute favorite of mine, enjoying what I would call Taiwan’s national dish, Beef Noodles (牛肉面) !

Even in Singapore you cannot get anything even close!

Their all day dining room is closed for renovation , but the Latitude 25, right next to it, still running rather well!

Also next to this place is an amazing take away Pastry & Sandwich joint “Drip & Dough” with outstanding pastry creations, and all kinds of baked goods to take away! Something very popular in Taiwan

Back to the beef noodles! This outstanding creation, not just an all time favorite is a Die Die Must Try when in Taipei, and the Le Meridien is definitely the place to do so!

In the 80s when we used to live in this amazing place, the Taipei Hilton was the place to enjoy it, and although it’s widely available, and in my humble opinion this dish is truly best here, at the hotel!

But be aware, the portion size is HUMONGOUS! 1 bowl enough for 2 adults, unless you are truly starved!

The secret lies in its multifaceted stock! The absolutely tender Beef consisting of secondary cuts, mainly shank, rib and the wonderfully delightful tendons, so soft, so yummy!

The noodles, thick are perfectly cooked, some Xiao Bai Cai, chinese cabbage greens, all accompanied by a semi boiled egg, pickled daikon and cucumber, good amount of red chili, as well as some pickled cabbage, which all add that additional oomph to the bowl!

This obviously needs to be washed down with the obvious, Taiwan Beer, that world famous golden brew!

It’s truly a one dish meal, pure joy and happiness when consumed will remain for the rest of the day!

I am Italian chef,I go dinner this evening with my wife i order a pizza marguerita because they make publicity is a chef from italy who come to taiwan to teach them and a mixt of cheese and ham, i take ny responsability to say you don t go to eat there i pay 1600 ntd to eat a pizza very very very very low quality is impossible a italian chef teach to make this things is on the level of pizza hut !!! Shame of them a hotel of this level to give this low...

You might be thinking what's the point of dining in a 5 star hotel's lobby just to pay doubled the average price... But once you meet a friend who you haven't seen for ages and suddenly found there's pretty much no place with vacant seats in Xinyi, this place comes in handy. Basically it's trading money for vacancy, under critical circumstance, it worked very well. To be honest, both their coffee and dessert are nice, it may be expensive yet it...
