YABI KITCHEN Breeze Nan Shan — Restaurant in Xinyi District

Was told there would be 30 min. wait but received a text/call about 15 min. later that there was a seat so don't stray too far. Tried the coffee ribs and although it's a unique flavor, especially with almonds, it was a little rich because there's chocolate in there. The stir-fried water spinach was lacking in flavor so to me it was just oil-soaked spinach. The mashed taro balls are nothing special, but what is special is the green sauce and pickles that come with that dish. It was so weird to me that the person who handed me the bill hovered and waited for me at the table to sign my credit...

Chanced upon this place while walking on the bridge between malls. More South East Asian food than Asian fusion, but it was tasty.

Beef Rendang was tender and fragrant, but if had more spice, would have elevated its Turmeric rice to go along was a good choice; fragrant too. Ordered the Prata with Thai sausage as an appetizer. A really unique dish that looked like a mini pizza; crispy and tasty. Coffee - a good try to replicate the condensed milk type we see in Singapore...

Their dishes do not authentically recreate Nanyang (“Southern Ocean” or Malayan-Chinese) cuisine, though they are tasty in a cosmopolitan and contemporary way. Importantly though, their service is unfailingly good. I once observed their waitstaff customize their service for children of various ages. Couple that critical factor with remarkably spacious seating and high ceilings, and you’ll find yourself coming back when you are in this neck of the Taipei...
