BeerCat — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

Just went here awhile ago around 7:30 pm. I was just walking around the neighborhood near where I am staying at. I saw a cute name “Beercat” and saw two cats at the table. This is my first time traveling solo in another country, and I just really want to try out a drink. Upon entering there were no customers which made me even wanna go in, but upon entering the owner didn’t even glance or smile at me. I am not a cocktail/beer/wine connoisseur so I don’t know much about it. I asked what’s the best seller or what he would recommend and with a meh face he said “I can’t recommend, everything here is delicious so you just might want to choose” I was so shocked and somehow anxious. I own a coffee shop back in my country and this is the least experience I would want my customer to feel in my shop.

I don’t expect him to talk to me, or make a conversation, I don’t want that either. I just hope that when something is being asked, He could have just answer it with kindness. Overall, the drink is nice, not the best, and a little...

I’m a cat lover but I don’t see how it’s justifiable to give a high rating just bc of the cats. Granted, the atmosphere was decent and the strawberry milkshake IPA was tasty.

Now to the cons. No sampling, no flights. Not a big deal but you’d expect it from a draft beer bar.

Service from the presumed owner was straight up bad. Like other reviews had stated, he’s apathetic and IMO too rude to be serving customers. All questions were answered with annoyance and condescension. One of our friends was going to leave so they didn’t order anything. Instead of approaching us and remind us politely that there is a min spending, he came in a reprimanding tone telling us that everyone has to order or else they can’t be here.

We were not unreasonable nor provocative, stop treating your customers with so little patience.

Seriously, there are many better draft beer options in Taipei. Nothing here is that special that you can’t miss. Go...

Visited this bar today. There’s a reason why it’s empty. I would give it 0.5 stars if I could. We went in to grab a quick drink. To be fair, the selection is pretty good but I will echo some of the other reviews. A flight should be on offer but the service level is so non-existent there’s no point talking about that. The owner/bar attendant was awful, not just with us but the poor cats. Not friendly and clearly not interested in changing his attitude to service based on the reviews I read after entering the place. Such a shame because the place has so much potential. If you would genuinely like someone to manage your establishment feel free to get in touch. Judging from all the other reviews, clearly you don’t give a damn about your customers.
