HONG KONG tea stalls (Nanjing flagship store) — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

The food was excellent, and the server named Popeye was incredibly helpful in recommending dishes and assisting us. However, I was disappointed with the attitude of another server, who I believe was called 小箤. She had long hair and long extension nails.

When we arrived and were queuing, she rudely hushed us and told us to return to the first floor because not everyone in our party had arrived. I explained that my friend was already at the red light and would arrive in about a minute, but she insisted that we get off and queue again. Even after my friend arrived and came upstairs, she still told us to go back down.

Thankfully, a male server quickly intervened and allowed us to go upstairs, which I greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the female server continued to make us uncomfortable, side-eyeing us throughout our visit. To make matters worse, she openly gossiped about us with her coworkers in front of us.

It’s truly regrettable that such a lovely place has service that falls so far below...

8/2025 Back again. Still remembered it. All pretty much the same. "French toast" at the tsil end of dinner was pretty authentic. Only issue is they use MSG in the food. My stomach knows!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. We were walking around 8 PM with a 4 and 6 year old and while McDo was only a few feet away (what the kids wanted), we decided to try this place out. Everyone was so accommodating and tried their best to speak to us in English (although it wasn't expected as we were happy to point at the pics on the menu). We really appreciated that and the servers and manager were engaging with our kids. They checked on us a lot, which was quite nice. Food was yummy and service...
