Sushi Express Yitong Restaurant — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

After eating here, I'm seriously considering whether it would be better to just not eat at Sushi Express in future.

I directly ordered a portion of 旗魚 sushi, and immediately after putting it my mouth I discovered that it had completely gone off beyond the point of inedibility. The flavour was a bit like something you'd smell from the gutter on a hot summer's day.

How on earth this former piece of fish managed to make it onto a customer's plate is beyond my understanding.

But the reputation of a sushi place must inevitably rest on the freshness of the fish, even for a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

Allowing any piece of fish to go that bad (to the point of having an obviously bad odour) and then serve it to a customer indicates that something has gone wrong with the way that the fish is being stored and handled.

Hope the restaurant can make the necessary improvements, but I seriously doubt I'm going to go back. I don't want to get...

Had a good time at sushi express. They have a lot of unique options and flavors. You pay by the plate and my wife and I ate well enough and were full after about $380 NTD. It was significantly cheaper than several other sushi places we looked at and has a very fun, modern style. I wished they had more sashimi on offer but the salmon we had was very fresh and tasty. We weren’t disappointed with any of the dishes. We had some difficulty ordering a drink, thinking we needed to take the drink ad off the conveyer belt but then learned it was just for display. We also had trouble getting a servers attention to get help. Value for money. if you’re just looking for a good sushi meal this is the place, 30NT per plate, fairly fast seating, descent selection and quality of sushi, sashimi, maki, noodles, and cooked japanese food, fairly good service. Just a few things to consider is that staffs are busy so not really that accommodating and very little english to help you guys out.
