Royal Joying Soirée — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

Restaurant trial operation started on Dec 2, 2019 with invited guests only. That was a nice experience, but what encouraged me to return again and again was of course the food.

I'll rate this restaurant as a high-end composite dining with really affordable pricing range. It combines with Dim-Sum, Fine Chinese food, and lounge bar. It basically provides meals from breakfast till late snacks. Though it's newly open, the core essence is a professional famous chef leading his team to design and operate the menu. The restaurant is new but the chefs behind the screen know what and how to present each dish.

I'm pretty sure that I am a returned customer, for it provides the most important thing for Hong-Kong style Dim-Sum food, authentic in taste and a whole new level up in presentation. Not the other way around that presents unique style but so-so food. Here, you'll definitely experience the precious "WOW" feeling. I haven't had really good Dim Sum in Taipei for decades, Many of them either closed and changed taste because of new management teams. So this Royal-Joying just pops up at the best timing for anyone looking for authentic Dim Sum with such an easy-around location. It's more recommended to come via taxi or public transportation without wasting too much time looking...

Funky and bougie spin on dim sum. The decor is just as amusing as the unique dishes; gold-rimmed chairs and flashy sofa pillows sit adjacent to a projector screen that shows underwater sea creatures as you eat. Downstairs gets even bougier with reserved seating only and a live band singing nostalgic Taiwanese tunes. Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) this place attracts a crowd, so make reservations in advance!

Cocktails🍹are very well crafted! I will be back for the DIY BBQ (叉燒) buns.

Dim sum is served until 4:30 and dinner with dim sum options...

This is a popular Instagram model (influencer) restaurant. Heard about this kind of restaurant but never been one until today. The outside is quite fancy and attracts a lot of attention. The bar is located in the basement which has a huge screens on the wall with a live band. All dishes look very beautiful but not necessarily tasteful and delicious. However, most of our orders are very delicious (somewhat surprised). Overall, it’s a pleasant experience and hopefully to return soon to try some drinks in...
