Stir-fried Flat Noodle ($180) (10/10): I’ve always been fond of the Hakka flat noodles since I was little. But in my opinion, the flat noodles are higher in quality than the ones made by other eateries. There were also some flavourful and scrumptious pork shreds.
Hakka Warmwood Mochi with Crushed Peanut ($100) (10/10): It is decorated with the name of the restaurant, which is such a creative idea. I relish the chewy and glutinous texture and slightly crispy coatings of mochis. The mochi itself is in deep green colour and has different taste and gcolour (deep green) from the regular one and I like the fragrant flavour of wormwood here.
In addition, Coca Cola (330ml) costs $40 and most of the other drinks are in large quantities.
In conclusion, this is probably one of the most delicious and authentic Hakka foods I’ve tried. The service is also nice and efficient and the prices are reasonable for its portion and value. Moreover, when it comes to its location, you can walk from MRT Shuanglian or Zhongshan Station through the Metro Mall underground because the restaurant is linked by the escalator near the column showing R10, Jazz, and Q square. Afterwards, you’ll see a wide lawn and the restaurant is on the right side and near Mos Burger. Overall, it’s a 10 out of 10!
FYI, you scan the QR code to place order, and there’ll be 10% service charge...
Read moreI was there in a group of at least 9 ordering ala carte. The food portion is good for all of us and I really enjoyed the fish beehoon Claypot ..the rest of dishes are passable.
The seating is comfortable and the waiter serving us did his best to manage our request while being busy cleaning other tables. They are understaffed on a Sunday.
My experience is not good with the reception and overall service hence 2 stars overall..firstly via phone call she seems impatient with my orders. During the mealx there is a taller man like restaurant manager as we have multiple requests from different diners in my group he had to entertain us a few times.. but once he got visibly upset and asked me "any more requests?" I am unable to predict what else is needed, so I was taken aback by his service tone.
I would say the restaurant need to boost manpower and improve training of customer service...otherwise it leaves a bad taste in customer mouth especially if we choose to bring foreigner visitors to Taipei and chose your restaurant, I felt embarrassed by the restaurant service and will not bring visitor...
Read moreGood food but small portions and quite salty (flavorful?)... great with lots of rice. Good environment but can get noisy when full of guests. Service wasn’t good though as it they were somewhat attentive early in our meal when there weren’t many people and became rather inattentive when more tables had guests. In fact we were told to wait several times by several people when it got busy. We ate early so we could leave before the crowd but apparently got stuck at the end of our meal when we just wanted the check and ask to pack up leftovers. Also beware of high ratings: the restaurant gives you a freebie if you rate them 5 stars on Google Maps. A bit clever I suppose but also deceptive. I went there with great expectations but it was average or slightly above average. Convenient from MRT and has nice fake grass courtyard that is pleasant for stroll or kids to run around. Other shops there like MOS Burger and a cafe and convenience store. If coming from front of building, look for signs and make your way down the stairs that are to the left of the front entrance (not inside...
