JupJup Craft Beer Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

Amazingly delicious beer. My favorite is the Jasmine Session Ale from Taiwan Head Brewers (which imo is the best brewery in Taiwan).. it's like a light pale ale with a strong jasmine flavor. They nailed it, just incredible beer. The Dong Ding Oolong Tea Ale is also very good, and the Jin Xuan Rain Water Tea Ale is a very unique brown ale.

I've now been here like 10 times (even 2 days in a row). I also brought 2 of my coworkers here, and I've now tried dozens of beers ..and no surprise, all were excellent. I will keep coming back, because the beers are awesome and both Ida and Susie have been very welcoming. The food is also really good (I've tried a few dishes so far, and loved the ratatouille).

The beer is bit expensive though - like my first visit I ordered 1 large (500mL) and 1 small (10oz) draft beer, and paid $832 TWD, plus a 5% fee for paying with credit card.. almost $30 USD!! That's double the price I've paid from any brewery or bar in the world.

So overall, the beer is amazing, the people are great, and high prices. But I'll still come back because the beers are excellent, and I like the people. But seriously, bring cash!! (and avoid the 5% fee). Also love their original name: Jup Jup...

Came because of the good reviews online, but had a rather disappointing experience. Plenty other better places selling the same selection of beers.

Shop was rather empty when I arrived, service staff was very prompt and informative (we’re paying a 10% service charge after all). I always look at a broad selection menu and only one chef in the house skeptically. Didn’t try the food, had a bottled beer instead. Inquired about the bar food, was informed it’s cocktail nuts and two kinds of crackers. No coaster, beer glass left a small puddle on the table, wet the notes I was working on.

Friend arrived and looked at the menu briefly. Said she didn’t feel comfortable in the shop and wanted to leave. I asked for the bill. Was informed that every customer was obliged to spend a minimum when they sat down. My friend spent less than five minutes in the shop and was forced to spend money just because she sat down?

Maybe I didn’t read the fine print about the rules but I think that’s ridiculous. Maybe tell customers to look at the menu outside and make up their minds before coming into the shop. In the end I bought another beer...
