Dining at Grand Sheraton Taipei's Cantonese restaurant, felt, was a delightful experience that truly showcased the essence of refined and authentic Cantonese cuisine.
The Peking duck, a highlight of our meal, was presented in three delectable forms: crispy duck skin, savory fried duck strips, and a richly flavourful duck soup. Each preparation allowed us to savour different aspects of the duck, with the soup being particularly impressive due to its deep, satisfying flavours.
While the vegetable dishes were fairly ordinary, the seafood fried noodles stood out for their freshness. The seafood components were exceptionally fresh, adding a vibrant taste to the dish that complemented the noodles perfectly.
The restaurant's ambiance is perfect for large gatherings, with spacious round tables that can comfortably accommodate up to ten people. This setup made our group dinner both enjoyable and convenient, allowing for easy conversation and a convivial atmosphere.
Overall, all at Grand Sheraton Taipei is a commendable choice for those seeking authentic Cantonese dishes in a setting that caters well to larger groups. The quality of the Peking duck and the seafood fried noodles are definitely worth...
Read moreNo complaints on the food, was especially surprised by the taste of the roast goose! But have given The Dragon overall 2 Stars for its service. I had expected a better service for the amount paid and following are the area for improvement:
The restaurant was crowded with customers waiting outside as most of their bookings is at 1800H. The seats outside was not enough and customers are crowding round waited to be seat. Suggest to put booking time to 1830H instead and when customers are early, they can be asher to sit down at their table instead of crowding outside the restaurant.
We order Claypot rice and soup and requested for the waiter to divide the food for us. The waiter told us to do it ourselves and walk away. Firstly, waiter had declared a reasonable request as it is not easy for the customer to divide the food for themselves. Secondly, these 2 dishes need extra bowls and waiter did not offer before walking away. Only upon request, these bowls were then provided.
Although the food and atmosphere of The Dragon was good, I do not think that I will visit again given that the service is not update to standard. Hope that my suggestion...
