This is the main branch and it gets really busy, especially since it’s near Taipei Main Station and attracts a lot of tourists. Compared to the other branch, the flavors are quite similar, though each has its own charm. But if you want the original experience, this is the spot.
I’m usually not a huge fan of dumplings in Taipei because I’m not into QQ (bouncy) textures, and the dumpling skins here tend to be thick. But at this place, even though the wrappers are on the thicker side, they’re packed with so much filling that the balance feels just right. Every bite is meaty and satisfying.
I especially love how garlicky the flavors are — both the pork and shrimp dumplings are full of flavor. I personally lean toward the shrimp one for its firmer, juicier bite. Don’t skip the soy sauce — it’s pre-mixed with chili, and they have fresh chopped garlic you can pile on yourself. Love it!

The dumpling wrappers/skins are medium thickness and just the right amount of chew, and nicely balanced to the volume of the filling. Flavour was pretty great, and I’m keeping this in my list for whenever I’m in the area! This one dish was good enough for a snack, so if you’re here for a meal, you’ll want to figure 15 dumplings with a side per person.
