Fisherman's Seafood & Grill — Restaurant in Unguja

This restaurant offers a lovely setting with tables placed directly on the beach sand and others indoors with a clear beach view. You can access it either from the beach or through the hotel’s main gate. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience.

There were a few crows around, mostly near the beachside tables, but those tables were unoccupied at the time.

As for the food — it was fantastic! They served us a small complimentary starter of assorted bread with butter, which was a nice touch. We then ordered the potato skins as a proper starter — crispy and full of flavor. For the main course, we had the beef & mushroom stew and the shrimp with fries — both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. We also had a fresh pineapple juice and a soda. The total cost for everything was 150,000 TZS, which we found reasonable for the quality and setting.

The only odd thing we noticed was the presence of small black dots on our clothes. We’re not sure what they were exactly — maybe something falling from nearby trees or the roof — but it didn’t take away from the great...

We came to eat at this restaurant because we read they do not serve any pork and this suited our requirements perfectly. What a wonderful restaurant right on the beach. Food was incredible and service great. We did not stay at this hotel but we chose to dine at this restaurant two out of seven nights whilst in Nungwi. The chicken tikka was very tasty. My husband enjoyed his grilled tiger prawns. Our kids enjoyed the chicken strips with French fries. The portions are big and very filling. The Greek salad was very good and fresh. All the food was freshly prepared and of a very good quality. The garlic bruschetta was also good. They even serve shisha and lovely desserts. Really nice atmosphere. It is an extraordinary place with very kind people in the staff.

We were served very quickly, especially for zanzibars standards. Before we got our meal we also were served very tasty bread which was warm with butter. Even when we didn't order it. I had chicken curry and my girlfriend had crab soup served in coconut. My food was very tasty in Indian style with nice tender chicken. And the crab soup was also nice with special spoon to fit into a coconut 🥥. Soup was maybe a bit bland for my taste (I like spicy stuff) but it was tasty. I don't recommend eating the crab arm because of the outer shell.
