Any response from the boss on this post can not be deemed worthy of an apology for the band duo for Friday night in Bangkok. For the first time in my life I chose to lose money and not finish my only drink which I left ¾ full, because I'd rather pay to leave immediately. I don't do drugs and had to leave my hostel because someone broke the rules and started smoking cannabis inside. I'd seen this rooftop many times from walking in the area and decided to stop by for a while. Band was playing very depressing music for a Friday night rooftop in Bangkok; Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. If you don't have a heart or a brain then the song means nothing to you. 真巧因为the theme of the place is for Mainland Chinese. By far, one of the best bars I have found since being away from home. It is a fantastic place, ran by amazing people, with great live music throughout the week/ weekend.

It seems like a base for those in Bangkok's music scene, which is really cool as a musician and music lover myself.

After visiting a few times, I have become quite friendly with a few of the staff and one of their regular performers. The music is always great, the view is excellent (overlooks the river) and the drinks/ food are certainly affordable. Plus, the staff will do whatever they can to make your visit enjoyable.

If you are looking for a quiet place in Bangkok to watch some great music and have a drink, Gaginang is absolutely the one. Can't recommend it enough and I am going to miss it...

"Gagi-nang" means "people of our own kind" in Chinese TeoChow dialect. It is a China chic roof top bar near canal, breezy, cozy with vintage charm. There is live performance. Overlooking old town bridge, canal and temple view. The owner is very easy-going and friendly, and is keen to promotes local Thai craft beer. There is also food choices, most of which are good pair with drinks. Another drink I ordered, 'Yaowarat Sunset' could have been more unique in taste and style I think. Good detail such as bills are put in papers look like a vintage Chinese book.
