My partner and I went for breakfast today and the waitress with the tattoos and short silver/purple hair was so horrible to us. My boyfriend has celiac disease (allergic to wheat), which means he can end up hospitalized if he eats any wheat based foods. I suggested this place because they claimed to accommodate food allergies.
The only thing on the menu he could eat were the eggs and potato wedges. We explained his allergy to this waitress and she assured us the potatoes were safe to eat. We waited a good 30 mins for our food. His potatoes clearly had a flour batter on them. The waitress put them down and walked away. We called her back over and she reluctantly admitted they had a batter on them. My boyfriend politely asked just for the chorizo and eggs.
Another 10 mins later she comes out and says the chorizo has wheat filler in it (gross). He asks just for scrambled eggs. Another 10 mins pass before she comes out to tell us the scrambled egg mix is a pre-made and has cream in it (what? How is this fresh??) he can't have milk either and just asks for sunny-side up eggs and she looks annoyed and says ok.
I'm not even kidding, it took them 20 mins to come out with two eggs. It's took almost an hour and fifteen minutes to get two cooked eggs. I was furious.
The waitress gave him food he was allergic to, acted annoyed to accommodate us, didn't come back and fix the problem quickly and then charged us almost 100 baht for two eggs. No apologizes, just give us your money.
I live in Chiang Mai and am going to tell all of my friends to not go here. They just want westerners money and so put up a facade that they make organic food that accommodates all...
Read moreDONT EAT HERE! My fiance is still very sick from food poisoning from the salmon she ate there (its the only thing she ate all day they we never did and she got sick within 2 hours of eating it, in the bathroom all day and night, cramps, headache, a light fever, I feel so bad for her). Went there as we heard is was amazing food. Long walk for us in the pouring rain. Waited for about 10 min since it was packed (a good sign we though), finally got a table and looking at the menu I start to see crazy prices (in from Canada and these prices are even higher than where I'm from, they want almost $3 just for toast with jam)! I ordered the cheapest dish that was still over $5 for an "open face sandwich". When it came to the table it was literally diced tomatoes, lettuce ( Rocket) and a very small amount of shredded cheese on a piece of garlic bread. Not impressed, went to McDonald's after to eat 2 small chicken burgers for 29boht after that were far better and filling and I hate McDonald's but I spent too much at Larder to afford much more (we have a budget for each day). I'll be helping me fiance for the next few days to feel better. What a...
Read moreThis cafe doesn’t even deserve a single star I’m not complaning about the food, the atmosphere, the sanitation. I’m upsetting with the sevice, especially the owner. I wouldn’t be posting someone’s resume on social network! just because his or her profile doesn’t reach the qualification criteria and giggling of the post! and the language that was used to reply back to number of people who opposed your act is very insulting, rude, and unprofessional for the one who is an owner running a business? I never been to your place before but your action already showed, how great your service would be if I went to the Larder, and what kind of attitude you would give to your costumers. This is very commonsense and it is totally terrible. Things might just went on television news two weeks ago. Eventhough, I see the Larder still getting numerous one star ratings. Hope you learn something from this, and fix it as soon as possible Tastes alone cannot make a restuarant good, the...
