If you visit northern Thailand, you MUST eat Khao Soi. And if you are in Chiang Mai, you MUST stop at Khao Soi Khun Yai.
Every Khao Soi place has their own unique variations on the dish. This place uses thin, light crunchy noodles and pre-cut chicken pieces (many places give you a whole chicken leg). Arguing which is better is like arguing over styles of (excellent) pizza. It's all good, just different.
The staff here is great, and very fast. It's ALWAYS busy, but that's part of the experience. Just walk up to the counter, order from the very simple menu (beef, chicken, pork, and small or large). They'll usually direct you to an open seat at a table. Not your own table...too busy for that. But they'll find you a seat. Sometimes you wait a few minutes, but tables cycle very quickly.
Don't let the crowd and lack of open tables scare you away. It works, and it's kinda cool. I've had some great conversations over a fantastic bowl of Khao Soi with people from all over the world.
Take time to eat here. And consider trying a few other Khao Soi places while you're in town. I can't imagine any place in the world you can get food this incredibly...

Still very delicious and one of the best, though missing something for me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing Khao Soi, it's amongst the best.
Visit #2:
The chicken Khao Soi was amazing. I'm glad I came back because the last visit took it from a 4 to a 5 star experience. The curry was delicious and spicy and the chicken just as tender and flavourful as last time. I highly recommend this Khao Soi. The curry is not sweet and the portions are big. Not to mention the ladies who work there are very friendly.

Almost perfect. Had the chicken Khao Soi and loved it but felt the broth was lacking the x factor. The chicken was amazing though and very juicy, but only got a couple small pieces, no drumstick or anything like that. It was very busy but the wait was not too bad around noon and the prices are hard to beat. I almost forgot to mention the noodles are very delicious too, perfectly cooked and seemingly homemade. Would be 5 stars if the curry was a bit more delicious. I'll just have to go back...

It was a searing hot day while I was walking around the old city walls so the thought of putting curry into me didn’t seem like the best idea. But a curious tummy plus the chance to try popular khao soi ultimately drove me inside.
This place is actually well reviewed and regarded as one of them top khao soi eateries, and after finishing my beef khao soi.. I agree. The protein was tender, well-cooked, and the noodles were typically good. The curry broth’s ALWAYS the star when it comes to this, and theirs was creamy, not too spicy, well-balanced, and left me with that feeling of utter satisfaction even though the long walk after didn’t turn out so well lol..
Try it!.. and you’ll understand why so many are raving about them. They’re really popular especially among the locals, and you know you’re onto a good one when you see that anywhere.
Avoid peak meal hours if you can afford to but the turnover is fairly quick. Patrons come and go like a...
