Khao Soi Mueang Klaeng — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

The Khai soi is heavy on the coconut milk and kinda sweet, which gives a different taste.

The salted veggies and onions are cellophane wrapped. Not sure if prepared onbthe same day. There is a plastic bag used for every pair of chopsticks and spoon. I feel kinda waste. However, not sure if they recycle.

Ambience is not bad as the owner has a good sets of speakers and system. You would not find this kind of music quality elsewhere.

When asked for a bill, she mentioned Baht50 and money to be passed to the owner. The owner returned me Baht40, saying its Baht60.

This is the best khao Soi that I have eaten since being in Chiang Mai. (Almost a year) It's well worth the trip. The prices are cheap, but that's irrelevant. It tastes so good. Chicken is tender and falls off the bone. (Full size chicken leg). The ingredients all mixed together taste like heaven. Mom and Pop with secret ingredient call "love". Amazing chicken khao soi from lovely owners just outside the old city. You don’t need to speak Thai to eat here, so don’t worry about the reviews that mention that—“khor khao soi gai” if you want to put even the smallest amount of effort in, but the owners were able to speak basic English with me.

50 baht a bowl and better than the “famous” shops I went to where you wait an hour at peak time.
