Restaurant Review: Glory Rooftop Bar

On the evening of 25th December 2023, I attended a pre-wedding dinner at Glory Rooftop Bar, joined by a group of 18 guests. Regrettably, our experience at this establishment fell short of our expectations in several aspects.

First and foremost, the quality of the food served was disappointing. The steaks we ordered were not chewable, which greatly affected our enjoyment of the meal. Tender and flavoursome steaks are essential for a memorable dining experience, and unfortunately, this was lacking at Glory Rooftop Bar.

The beverage service also left much to be desired. The beer served was not adequately chilled, and both the champagne and rosé wines were not cold enough. To exacerbate matters, an ice bucket for chilling the champagne and rosé was not provided unless specifically requested. Given that this was a pre-wedding dinner, we expected the beverages to be properly cooled and readily available for our enjoyment.

Furthermore, we encountered damaged bowls during our meal. This oversight reflects a lack of attention to detail and quality control in the establishment. The presence of damaged tableware is concerning, as it indicates a lack of maintenance and care for the dining experience provided to guests.

The service at Glory Rooftop Bar was also disappointing. The staff failed to provide serving utensils for the Thai dishes we ordered, which hindered our ability to enjoy these specific culinary offerings. Additionally, they neglected to provide bowls for soup, an essential component of any Thai dining experience. While they promptly collected dirty plates, they failed to replace them with clean ones, leaving us without proper utensils for our meal. Such lapses in service are highly unsatisfactory, particularly during a special occasion such as a pre-wedding dinner.

On a positive note, the atmosphere at Glory Rooftop Bar was cosy. However, the music played throughout the evening was excessively loud. This volume level made it challenging to hold conversations and fully enjoy the ambiance of the rooftop setting. Adjusting the music volume to a more pleasant and conducive level would greatly enhance the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, our pre-wedding dinner experience at Glory Rooftop Bar was marred by poor food quality, inadequate beverage temperature, damaged bowls, subpar service, and excessively loud music. These issues detracted from what should have been a memorable occasion. We had a really bad experience here recently, and it was mostly because of mistakes with the food, rude staff, and a huge issue with the bill.

We asked for our steak to be medium-rare, but when it arrived, it was completely overcooked, closer to well done. We had to send it back to the kitchen. The staff gave us nasty look because of this.

After we complained about the steak, the staff's attitude changed completely. They became very discourteous and unprofessional. We also felt incredibly rushed throughout the meal. The waitresses kept trying to clear our plates before we were even finished, which felt very rude.

The most worrying part was when we checked the final bill. They tried to charge us an extra 500 THB for a bottle of wine that we never ordered. It felt like they were trying to sneak it onto the bill. We were lucky we checked it and had them take the charge off.

While the restaurant's atmosphere was nice, the overall experience was terrible due to the poor service and all the errors. For the high prices this place charges in Chiang Mai, you can easily find much better service and food quality elsewhere. I wouldn't...

การบริการแย่มาก เหมือนพนักงานไม่ได้รับการฝึกฝน ไม่มีความเอาใจใส่ ไม่มีไหวพริบ วันนั้นไปทานอาหารกับเพื่อน5คน ไปฉลองวันเกิดให้เพื่อน ได้โต๊ะ2โต๊ะ มีโคมไฟเพียงดวงเดียว ซึ่งมันมืดมาก อ่านเมนูไม่ได้เลย ต้องเรียกพนงเพื่อขอโคมไฟเพิ่มอีกดวง บริเวณที่นั่งมีไฟประดับตกแต่งด้านบนแต่ไม่ได้เปิดไฟไว้ เราได้สอบถามพนงว่าไฟตรงนี้จะเปิดไหม พนงตอบว่า “อ่อไม่ได้เปิดค่ะ จะเปิดกลางวัน” งง เปิดกลางวันเพื่ออะไร ในส่วนของทิชชู่ มีทิชชู่บนโต๊ะเพียง3แผ่น แต่เรามากัน5คน ก็ต้องขอพนงเพิ่มอีก ซึ่งพนงก็ไม่เคยเฉียดมาใกล้โต๊ะเลย ไม่มีการเดินสอดส่องว่าลูกค้าต้องการอะไรเพิ่มไหม ต้องรอจังหวะในการเรียก พอเราทานอาหารเสร็จเราบอกพนงว่ายกเค้กออกมาได้เลย แต่ก็ไร้วี่แวว ต้องบอกซ้ำประมาณ3-4ครั้ง ใช้เวลา30นาที ตั้งแต่ทานข้าวเสร็จกว่าจะได้เค้ก พอยกเค้กออกมาก็ยกออกมาแค่เค้กจริงๆ ไม่มีการปักเทียนจุดไฟใดๆทั้งสิ้น ความประทับใจ=0 พนงไม่ยิ้มแย้ม หน้านิ่งสุดๆ ไม่เหมาะทำงานบริการเลย เราอ่านรีวิวมาเยอะมีแต่คนแนะนำที่นี่ เลยตั้งใจมาฉลองวันเกิดให้เพื่อน คาดหวังว่าการบริการจะดีกว่านี้ จะได้รับความเอาใจใส่เนื่องจากมาฉลองวันเกิด แต่ไม่เป็นไปตามที่คิดเลย ผิดหวังมาก

เพิ่มเติมจากที่ร้านตอบกลับ -ทางเราไปสายจริง ยอมรับในส่วนนี้ และได้แจ้งทางร้านแล้วว่าจะเข้าไปช้า -ทิชชู่มีที่โต๊ะ3แผ่น พอขอเพิ่มก็ได้3แผ่นเหมือนเดิม -โคมไฟ1ตัวต่อ1โต๊ะ แต่เราได้2โต๊ะ ไฟดวงเดียวไม่สามารถส่องสว่างให้เห็นได้ทั้ง2โต๊ะ ขอบคุณพนงที่ได้รีบนำโคมไฟมาให้เพิ่มหลังจากที่ขอ -แสงไฟมืดเกินไปมากกว่าที่จะบอกว่ารักษาความเป็นส่วนตัว ถ้าไปกัน2คนก็สว่างกำลังดี แต่เราไปกัน5คน มันมืดเกินไปที่จะแชร์ไฟจากโคมไฟแค่ดวงเดียว -ในส่วนของเส้นไฟ พนงไม่ได้อธิบายอะไรอย่างที่ร้านตอบกลับ เพราะถ้าพนงอธิบายแบบนั้นจริง เราคงไม่มีข้อสงสัยอะไร -พนงไม่อยู่ใกล้เพราะรักษาความเป็นส่วนตัว+โต๊ะที่เรานั่งพนงไม่สะดวกยืน ก็เข้าใจได้ในส่วนนี้ แต่อย่างน้อยก็ควรจะเดินมาถามบ้างว่าต้องการอะไรเพิ่มไหม มีอะไรขาดไหม ได้รับอาหารครบไหม etc. อันนี้แค่แสดงความคิดเห็น เพราะไปทานอาหารที่อื่นก็มีพนงเดินมาถามไถ่บ้าง -มีเพื่อนได้แจ้งว่าให้นำเค้กออกมาช่วง22:00 แต่เราก็ทานอาหารเสร็จประมาณช่วงเวลานั้น และต้องย้ำหลายครั้ง พนงเหมือนจะรับทราบแต่ก็เดินไปเดินมาไม่เอามาให้สักที จนกระทั่งย้ายโต๊ะเข้าไปนั่งด้านในก็ยังต้องย้ำอีกครั้งว่าขอเค้ก มันย้ำหลายครั้งเกินไป เหมือนพนงลืมเรา เราเลยรู้สึกไม่ประทับใจ -ในครั้งแรกพนงยกเค้กออกมาโดยไม่ปักเทียน มีแค่เค้กเพียวๆทุกคนในโต๊ะเป็นพยาน ตอนนั้นทุกคนอึ้ง งง เทียนหายไปไหน เลยได้บอกพนงว่าช่วยไปปักเทียนแล้วยกมาให้ใหม่ได้ไหม และขอไฟแช็กด้วย ตอนเอามารอบที่สอง เห็นพนงพยายามจะจุดไฟแล้ว แต่มันไม่ติด เลยบอกเขาว่าไม่เป็นไร เอามาวางที่โต๊ะเลย เดี๋ยวจุดเอง ตอนแรกก็แอบคาดหวังว่าเขาจะร้องเพลงHBD ตอนถือเค้กมาไหม สรุปไม่มี ก็โอเค ไม่เป็นไร สงสัยกลัวรบกวนลูกค้าท่านอื่น เราก็เลยไม่ได้ร้อง เป่าเทียนกันเงียบๆ -หากทางร้านไม่มีบริการเซอร์ไพรส์วันเกิดก็ย่อมเข้าใจได้ แต่ก็อยากให้แจ้งกันหน่อย ตอนเรานำเค้กไปฝากพนง เขาก็ไม่ได้พูดอะไร รับไปเฉยๆ เราก็คิดไปเองว่าจะเหมือนร้านอื่นที่มีถือเค้กร้องเพลงhbd เพราะเห็นหน้าเพจเขียนว่ามีโปรโมชั่นวันเกิด นึกว่าจะดูแลกันเป็นพิเศษ -เพิ่มเติมอีกเรื่อง ตอนขอช้อนเพื่อมากินเค้ก พนงให้จานเล็กมา1ใบ กับช้อนแค่2อัน ทั้งๆที่เรามากัน5คน อันนี้โคตรไม่เมคเซ้น พอขอพนงเพิ่มเหมือนพนงจะได้ยินแล้ว แต่ก็เห็นเดินไปเดินมาไม่เอามาให้สักที จนต้องขอซ้ำอีกรอบ -ในส่วนที่บอกว่าไม่ให้นำอาหารจากข้างนอกเข้ามา ยอมรับว่าไม่ทราบจริงๆ เพราะปกติไปฉลองวันเกิดที่ไหนก็นำเค้กไปตลอด ต้องขอโทษด้วยจริงๆในส่วนนี้ -ส่วนรีวิวที่รีวิว5ดาวเพื่อแลกกับโปรโมชั่นส่วนลดแล้วลบไป ไม่แน่ใจเหมือนกันว่าเพื่อนลบออกหรือยังไง เพราะเพื่อนเป็นคนรีวิว...
