Stepping into Lucky's, you are immediately transported to the bustling streets of Vietnam's capital, thanks to the evocative aromas and simple décor. This hidden gem in the heart of Santiham has mastered the art of 'bun cha,' a dish that sings with complexity and soul. At the heart of their menu, 'bun cha'—grilled pork served over a bed of fresh rice noodles with herbs and a side of dipping sauce—is the undeniable star. The pork, marinated to perfection, offers a beautiful char on the outside while remaining succulently juicy on the inside. It's complemented by the light and aromatic broth, which strikes a perfect balance between sweet, sour, and spicy, thanks to a harmonious blend of fish sauce, sugar, and lime. Each dish is crafted to enhance the fresh, local ingredients shine in every bite and are a testament to the chef’s dedication to quality and authenticity. Order the creme caramel, it's magnificent, and the coffee is traditionally Vietnamese. A go to, that I'll return to again in the near future! Service at Lucky's is warm and welcoming. The staff go out of their way to ensure every guest feels at home, whether you're a first-timer trying Vietnamese cuisine or a seasoned aficionado. Their recommendations are spot on, and they are more than happy to guide you through the menu offerings. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and simple, mirroring a typical Hanoian eatery with its seating and lively chatter. It’s perfect for a casual dinner yet elegant enough for a special occasion. In conclusion, Lucky's is a must-visit for anyone craving a true taste of Vietnam. The exceptional 'bun cha', friendly service, and charming atmosphere make it not just a meal, but a cultural experience. Whether you're local or just passing through, make sure to stop by!

I have never been to Vietnam but have eaten pho noodles all the time. So my interest piqued and decided to try their noodle and authentic Vietnamese coffee. They only server like 2 dishes plus coffee and a dessert. There is no beef pho noodle. The decoration is definitely very instagram friendly especially among so many other unassuming local restaurants. I like the roasted pork with noodles, even though it was a bit sweet for my taste. As for the coffee, it looked so promising but tasted so disappointing. I have had much better Vietnamese coffee in US. The price is a bit higher than local food, but I guess you have to pay for the clean decor and ambience. I may never go back again, cause I have had the experience now. It is more of a tourist one time experience kinda restaurant than a I want to frequent often restaurants. As a matter of facts, all the customers were foreign tourists when I was there. But if you like sweet Vietnamese food a lot, you may want to go back. As for the service, I think they are very good and honest. I accidentally gave them one more 100 note , which the staff gave me back right away.

I love Bun Cha and of course I had to come to this place. Was pleased to find a low carb (no vegetable) version. It came with a mountain of vegetables and herbs. The grilled pork was in the form of slices and minced patties. Both were well grilled, with a great smoky flavour. These were perfectly complimented by the sweet and sour dipping sauce. The Bun Cha here is actually tastier than what we had in Hanoi, as the ones we managed to find were very local - low in price and therefore, with lower quality pork (too much fats and poor texture). We also ordered the cream custard and Vietnamese drip coffee. The vanilla cream custard was great. Not so sure about the matcha flavoured version. My husband loved the coffee - so sweet and so strong. Other than what we have ordered, this place offers as well beers, ciders and a noodle salad called Bun Chay. It is a vegetarian dish with tofu. If you love Vietnamese food, this place is highly recommended.

Less is more is how i would describe this place. Since it only serve 1 dish "Bun Cha" (and alternative vegetarian version). You only need to pick the size. "Small" which is regular or "Large" which is 30% more of everything. We ordered small which was just right for us. The sauce has a sweet forward taste follow by salty and slightly sour taste. Eating is simple. 1. Adding galic, chilly and herbs to freshen it up 2. Dip your rice noodle in and enjoy The pork was well marinaded and grilled on high heat to maximize the smoky flavor while still moist on the inside, which really make this dish a winner. Ice Vietnamese coffee & Cream Custard were also good. The prices are very reasonable espacially with good service and free tea / water. Nice vocal jazz and good atmosthere to accompany your food. The only problem is getting a seat can be a challenge so booking ahead is recommended. Also only open for lunch.

From a Vietnamese perspective, "bun cha" is very authentic and delicious- soft, juicy grilled meatballs and belly pork that has a delicate smell of lemongrass. The sauce is still warm and taste just right. The veggies are fresh and clean. I especially admire the caramel or in Vietnam we call flan cake- super melting and creamy but still has a certain firm texture not to falldown- perfectly fine that I couldnot even find the same in Vietnam. Only the smoothie of coconut and durian is a bit bland for me. If there's something that the restaurant could do better, maybe add some sense of Vietnam/Hanoi (origin of bun cha) to its decoration- the current setting is very simple and minimal so not sure this is the owner' preferred deco.

Amazing!! This one dish Vietnamese restaurant is as good as if not better than Hanoi. The sweet owner who speaks excellent English makes wonderful bun cha in a new modern immaculate restaurant. There is soft music in the background and wifi. Bun cha comes in small and large, I had the large and my wife had the small. The small would have been plenty for me. Fresh herbs and noodles comes with a delicious sweet dipping sauce that has grilled pork patties, pork strips, carrots and pickled green papaya. After the meal I had a Vietnamese drip Nguyen Trung coffee and a creme caramel. Delicious. If you've ever had bun cha in Vietnam you'll really appreciate this place. Presently it is open for dinner only on the weekends.
