i need the 6-star for modesty and authenticity!
i was there twice already within a week (lunch and dinner - during the evening time it became gradually but consistently much busier), but i am definitely going to return for other dishes that i added to my queue already.
the second time i had fish&chips (mashed potatoes instead of french fries), and as i told to the lady (one of the daughters - the only one in the family that mostly inteacts with guests and speaks and understands english more than the common thais) that i lingered on the decision whether to order the sirloin steak is that i wanted to return already and i wanted it to be my dish on my third visit. i ordered those dishes in this family-run thai restaurant in order to see how it will be to eat non-thai food from thai hands. no regret at all, on the contrary!
you couldn't not notice the serenity in here, everything is done in a relaxed manner, range of ages and number of guests per table (several solos such as myself). on my second time i was sitting for almoat 2 hours and noticed customers come and go.
nobody pulls customers from outside as done aggressively in many other restaurants. the location is also the key to success.
they are open from 8AM to 9PM! wow! running this kind of business on a daily basis is not easy at all, maintaining the level of service.
the menu is rich with various food types. the first time inhad thai food (stir-fried rice with chicken with garlic and pepper).
the food was delicious, hot (not just warm!), most dishes were large enough for me and the prices are ridiculously cheap. i finished everything in my plate and always hoped for more.
i thanked the father and the mother directly. they deserve the...
Read moreVery glad we stopped to eat here! Food was delicious, very flavoursome, you can really taste the fresh herbs and wok hei (iykyk). We had the stir fry morning glory with chicken and rice, red curry stir fried rice, papaya salad with chicken and Khao Soi (curry noodle soup). Bill came to 340 baht, which is just under $10 USD for 4 dishes for 3 people. The chicken was a fried chicken steak, similar to the chicken from a katsu curry, and was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Kao Soi is a must try, very creamy and fragrant.
Only thing that stops me from giving it 5 stars is just to temper expectations -it's not a beautiful restaurant with aircon and a swanky interior, but if you're looking for an authentic Thai meal that is cheap and delicious, and don't mind what the place you are eating looks like, then you'll...
Read moreI came back for breakfast. There's free wifi. I had the 120 Baht breakfast which was delivered fairly quickly, although the 2 slices of toast arrived after the rest. The bacon was thin though. The home fries were mini bits of potato. Fairly good value for money but I wouldn't mind an instant coffee with it
Plenty of choice. I went for the Penang curry with rice which was 60 Baht. A large Chang is 80 Baht. The food was pretty good. The service was friendly and fairly quick. There's free wifi. It's by the moat so you have a great view but you also have...
