We came here in February 2016 and was in Chiang Mai for 4 days and ran across the Ram Bar and came every night for their 10pm show.
Now we are back in January 2018 and the place is still amazing and no smoking inside allowed anymore which is good for those of us who do not smoke but you can go outside if you want to smoke.
The bar gets busy around 9pm-930pm because the show starts at 10pm and you want to come early to get a good table because it's so busy.
Definitely recommend the Ram Bar and it's straight friendly even though it's a gay bar. Great staff. Sam, Earth and Wat are amazing staff!!!!!!!
We are staying here in Chiang Mai for 4 more days now and will come here as our nightly entertainment.

Read moreIt was my last night in Chiangmai. Ram Bar was the only gay place (mixed bar)that I had been to through out my whole Chiangmai trip. I was kinda regret that I didn’t see this show earlier. It was really amazing. (I have traveled for work and saw more than a hundred of drag shows around the world in the past 10 years). They really organized the show perfectly. The drag queen gowns , the makeup, interaction with audiences , the song they arrange , and most importantly the the drag queens Performers . Almost every single element in this shows are excellently present in this 2 hours show!! Last but not least , I would like to pay my respect to one of the performer with short curly hair/wig ( Performed the classic love song) . I didn’t know your name. But as I told you,you are really the best , every single word comes from your lip sing was just like you were really singing it. Thank you ,Ram Bar, for making my last night in Chiangmai an...
Read moreRam Bar in Chiang Mai offers a truly unique nightlife experience with its lively drag and transgender performance shows. The performers are incredibly talented, making it a must-see for open-minded visitors who appreciate diversity and creativity. The crowd is a friendly and mixed blend of both LGBTQ+ and heterosexual patrons, creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally warm and hospitable, and the bar has a distinct, vibrant energy that sets it apart. Shows begin at 9:45 PM, with the final performance around 11:00 PM. We visited after exploring the nearby night market, as recommended by a local, and had a fantastic time. Note that outside food or drinks aren’t allowed, but you can purchase cocktails, soft drinks, or other alcoholic beverages at the bar. Alert! It gets super crowded before the first show! So better be there at least by 9pm if you wish to sit...
