Ohhh, I really want this review to be a 5, but it wouldn’t be true. The man and woman that run this place seem so sweet, and I want them to do well. Hopefully this review will make them up their game. First, the food is quite good. Although the naan seemed more like chapati to me, everything was tasty. We tired the chicken 65, the butter chicken, and a couple of the cheese dishes. We had no complaints with the food; well, except that the portions were small based on the price. Good food. But, the gentleman in the dining area needs to learn proper food handling skills. He used his bare hands to break a clump of ice before dropping it into the ice bucket. He also used his bare hands to grab ice from a bag in the freezer. We were grossed out. The plates and some of the silverware had food stuck to them. And the same guy grabbed the forks, mouth part first, with his hands to distribute them. There was a mixed feeling of, “that is so gross!” and “this smiling guy is so caring and sweet that we don’t want to hurt his feelings.” The only other downside is that food takes a while to prepare. If the place is crowded, you will have to wait a while to get your food. Ok, let me end on a positive. The woman, I assume Sarita, came out to check on us a few times, so I felt in some ways a bit of hospitality. She was glad to have us there and really wanted us to have a good experience. So, YES, go to Sarita and enjoy a good meal. But check to see if the problems I pointed out are still taking place. If they’re not, kudos to the staff for making the change. Sorry, I don’t have...
Read moreI showed up very hungry and wanted this as my first meal of the day since I’d researched Sarita’s place online the night before. I was so excited to my walk 15-20min to the place and learned that the business was closed for Thailand’s’ Songkran World Festival. My hunger pangs were devastated. The owner seeing my hunger greeted me and decided to cook for me. Absolutely worth the wait! The food was flavorful, fresh, hot and delivered in sequence. Chicken Masala & hot buttered Roti first ☝🏽 then the chicken biryani was sooo good! (I’d planed to take that one home for later, but it didn’t make it 👀😄) I devoured this dish- all but a few bites which I packaged in a take away. She also asked if I wanted spicy when taking the r order, I ordered mild and the spice level was perfect! 👌🏽 I could taste every flavor and fragrant ingredient. I REALLY wanted garlic naan but counted my blessing that she would even take any order at all being her off day. How lucky! 🍀 Once she saw that I was ending the plate, she quietly served the gulab jamum. It was hot and perfectly timed! I loved that she was so thoughtful and served each dish with care. Thank you Sarita for your lovely food and the good company. I can’t wait to go back & try the naan and other dishes! It was a delicious pleasure 🙏🏽 Small local restaurant with a big taste and kind heart. ♥️ Give this restaurant a try! I really enjoyed this new find. Great Indian food. Cold drinks....
Read moreCame here after reading reviews on Google. What a disappointment. I ordered a raita and a dahl with extra paneer. They arrived with a raita boondi. When I asked to change it since I ordered their simple "raita" they said I should have mentioned I wanted the vegetable one. It didn't make any sense since that's how it is labeled on their menu. When it arrived it was just a bit of yoghurt with a few cucumber cubes in it. It was far from the nice picture with tomatoes, cucumber and fresh herbs. The dahl was really bland. And the extra paneer was absent. At the end of the meal, when I made my observations the reaction of the indian lady owner was poor. She pretended there were no tomatoes that day at the market due to the floods. Ridiculous lie since I had been to a couple of markets myself and there was absoltely no supply shortage of any food ! And then she apologized for forgetting the extra paneer in the micro-wave (!?). So, if you want some bland microwaved so-called indian food, this is the place to be... I generously give 2 stars because I must admit at least I was not sick...
